Christ £400!!

and you know that for that price it would have been packed safe and secure inside a black bin liner covered in masking tape and a delivery receipt with the slight chance of some bubble wrap.

:slap:slap

Haha yeh, Good job they are ceasing to trade soon

What I am trying to figure out is why I this figure releasing next year when hot toys has NOTHING really scheduled for qt 3 & 4 2012....only things are mech test 2.0 ron patriot. Why so long?

It might be easy to forget, but HT also does figures of other franchises. I'm sure they have other things coming out during that time.

The price point on this one is gonna be classic.

(And I'm guessing no more than 35% zinc alloy total.)

Another, already? :thud:

I'm starting to really feel your sentiments. I'm starting to hope for XFC
figures to come up. :monkey2

Actually they've been overcharging Iron Patriot, or at least made it more expensive than the regular Marks - the IP bust cost $109.99 but Mark 42 bust cost $94.99, and the Mark 7 $99.99. I feel that they're basing prices based on their estimation of the figure's popularity...and it seems to them that IP will be most sought after amongst all.

Plus the fact that they know Hot Toys is a popular product. :lol

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - Iron Man 3: Iron Man Mark 42 Diecast Series MMS

I'd say that they won't be doing a plastic version other than the PPS one to be honest.

No not really. If that price is in American money I'm not paying $340-350 for a 1:6th action figure. That's not enough bang for my buck so I will get the PPS one to keep my iron man armors going.

Crazy how at these prices every figure will require a deposit now. I'll bet every figure now thats $260 plus requires a deposit. Plus I can't get over I'm now paying just under £200 a figure now.

What I can't get my head around, when the Jack Nicholson Joker was revealed and the prices, the place went bananas and blaming it on Nicholson licensing. $275 was the most expensive figure then. Now these figures are costing more. Yet I'm amazed how so many on other forums or those from Hong Kong and so on seem to have no objections with the price hikes.

We have $300 figures now, Luke, Terminator 2? It keeps going up and going up, next year it'll be $400 figures and they still wont bat an eye. It's like it never happened.

Yet you know the strangest thing, knowing the prices of these figures today, the quality control wont really have changed. Since I keep reading about this.

You can't really view as "Those figures right there cost me $1000."

I can't imagine the hurt other people must feel if they viewed there collection like that :monkey1 People have spent over a good 10k but heck a hobby is a hobby. One expensive one but if you want a figure, work a way to get it or if you're really doubting yourself, hold out until this figures gets some in-hand pictures.

I'm pretty sure OMG's picture will convince you. :panic:

Heh, look at your bills. I know I've spent well over £4,000 the last few years. Let alone from what started in 2008. I could guarantee close to £10,000.
I've already spent over £1,000 this year and we're just barely into Spring.

Exactly my point though :lol This is not a cheap hobby and I'm pretty sure those going into it will know they aren't going to come out of this as richer man or woman than before they came into it. You'll come out with a more empty wallet but you'll have a beautiful set up at home to show it off.

Heh, yeah and it's only going to get worse. You're no longer going to get so many people buying 1 - 3 figures a month, $300+ a time. Those days are nearly gone. Remember the scarecrow pack? for $300 or so with a couple of hands.

Can you even see so many people buying multiples as well for $300+ a figure?

I've had to pass on a lot of figures for those reasons. I'm becoming extremely selective with my collection now. Not that I've ever had impulse purchases. Especially the fact pay freezes/cuts with companies in recent years. Keep your job, accept, want more, let you go.

It's a shame though that we have to be selective with what we can buy.

I would honestly buy all the Iron Man figures they **** out just for the sake of having them all if they didn't now cost $300 a figure. Because of that I'm going to skip out on the Iron Patriot and put that money to the Mark 3 coming out and 42.

It's a shame we can't collect what we want due to rising prices but what can you do these days when they have us by the ***** in this market. :dunno

I guess the standard of announcing a figure overnight and SSC putting it up for PO that next afternoon is a ting of the past???

I thought this might go up today.

It should go up today. That's what happened to the Iron Patriot. :dunno

The battle damaged VII hasn't went up...

It says the PO will be up for us Oversea when the movie launches so I'm assuming first week for that one.

This one should be up today if they go along with their previous PO time frame.
