Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

Indeed! And people are complaining about the price. :lol Like I said, once people have this in hand and realize how massive this thing really is they will know where that extra cost went!

Hulk is going to ROCK!

:goodpost::exactly:

I suspect most complaints stem from not being able to afford get this, or the whole team. And thats fine. Some peole can't be that open to say ITS COOL AND I'D LOVE TO GET THIS, BUT I CAN'T AFFORD IT.

And Hulk is not simply 4 1/2 inches taller than the others, he is at least twice as wide. I bet he weighs 2-3 times more than the average 12" figure.

Yes he's bigger, but it's not like he's a 16" version of captain America. His extra size doesn't make up for the overall simplicity of his design and the drastic price difference.

I disagree. I would have liked another HS or some accessories, but that would have increased the price. I think HT did a brilliant thing by keeping him simple. The who were legitimately on the fence because of price probably bought this because it came in less than most of our predictions.

I personally think $300 was the magic breaking point. I think if HT had marked him at $325-$350 they would have priced a lot of collectors out and loss sales. But at $300 more people can justify that price.

Seen this in another thread....

Well that's just about the coolest thing I've ever seen....

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

:lol Yeah it does. This thing isnt going to be some cheap roto-cast toy. This thing is going to be thick. And Massive. When Iron Man is coming in at $250 this thing HAD to be more. Again, its a fully new tooled body. What did you expect? You are acting like this is a common regular muscle body, where its not.

Why did Hulk have to cost more than IM? IM features numerous points requiring engineering and careful production and is a far more complicated figure design than Hulk, Hulk is essentially a statue, minimal articulation with 2 points a complete waste. I just think Hulk should have come in around $250, but it's Disney/Marvel and it's the only 1/6 Hulk ever done so they can charge whatever they want.

So, the Hulk figure in the AniCom diorama, with the whole team, is slightly larger than what the final production figure will be?

That certainly could be the case. HOWEVER, it pretty hard to not expect something that is at least twice the size in total mass, not to be at least a little more expensive. And to say the lack of accessories should keep it down, I agree. I think it kept it at $300.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

Not sure i'm liking the pvc arms... they seem to... cave in in his elbow in an odd way when bent. time will tell how this will effect the paint.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

Wonder why they can't just make a photo of the actual prototypes standing in the line instead of making a poor collage of pics from official announcements...

I guess we'll have to wait until next year to see pics of them all together in real time.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

I'm not that concerned with the price because I won't be a completist. I'll just let Hot Toys eat the potential additional profits they could have had. If these were even a little cheaper I'd be tempted to get the whole team but instead at most I'll get the big four and still have an off the charts display.

They've only got you buy the balls if you *have* to get *every thing* they pump out.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

*Squeek* I'm not addicted. *Squeek* I can quit when I like. *Squeek* please sir. Can I have my balls back? *Squeek*

Very true.. but that's just common sense anyway isn't it. :dunno :lol

I'm quite disappointed about not liking this guy as much as I was hoping to.. HULK is an icon - big personal fave, & it'd be beautiful to have something in honour of that. I was really hoping this was going to be it.

I'll just hang in there I guess.. :lol

That's what it looks like. At Anicom he looked to be about 50% taller than everyone else, putting him at 18 inches. If he will be 16.5 I'd imagine he'd be much closer to the mock-up.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

Anyone complaining about price but wanting this figure...just don't friggin pre-order. I have no doubt in my mind you'll be able to get this for $250 once it's been released in NA. Do I ever regret jumping on DX08 once it hit the Asian market. Last time I do that.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

Glad i PO'd this :D

Me too! :wink1:

I don't own any avengers figures but I may have to make hulk my first. He's one of those figures I just assumed would never get made and then boom - preorder. I'll probably just wait and go to bbts. It's not like hot toys ever sells out of figures anymore.

What a way to start collecting! I too, ordered mine from BBTS. :hi5:

Well that's just about the coolest thing I've ever seen....

Its not an official HT photo. Just FYI. :wink1:

Sad, but true. But I plan to do this.
