Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

I totally agree but whatcha gonna do :dunno

Nothing. I'll buy the guys I really want for as long as I can maintain it and when the prices get to the point where I think it isn't worth it anymore, I'll just enjoy what I have and be happy with it.

I just think that looking far beyond the horizon, people won't be willing to pay $300 or $350 for a regular 1/6 Hot Toys/Sideshow figure and these companies may have some problems. I'll be long gone from it by then, though. At least I hope I will be.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

All I know is that when this thing ships next year, IW ILL HAVE IT ON MY SHELF!

I like the figure completely. I would've like a second HS and a stand, but it not coming with either isn't going stop me from getting it. ESPECIALLY sonce it is $50 LESS than I thought it would be.

And HT prices aren't going to stop increasing. Stay on board or just off. But get use to it. ANY figure we see below $200 now will be a rare thing. But HT is not going away any time soon. Stop kidding yourself.

:exactly:

I was expecting this guy to come in AT LEAST Jake Sullys price. I was thinking $300 (hopefully) $325 probably. $350 at most. And I was surprised it was $300. And with the $30 NRD and me using $40 in Rewards Points its like getting this guy at $230 when shipped! Thats cheaper than what Im paid for my DX08 or DX09! That works for me!

Plus if I wait for an Avengers 2 version or Hulk 2.0 with more stuff be sure it will be EVEN MORE expensive than this intitial release. (Look at DX01 versus DX11 or DX02 versus DX12 in price comparisons, Practically $100 increase in price since those first two were released). Hulk 2.0 with extra head and Base? $400 EASY.

And people will ***** and moan then too. And Ill be smiling with my Hulk on my shelf.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

This is kinda true. You also need to factor in the new crop of crackhead collectors. :lol The key thing is being very selective. I have been that way since 2009.

Its harder said than done, but the more the prices go up it forces a collector to become more selective. Or go broke. :lol

Indeed. This is me too. I think $300 is my breaking point. I just cant justify any more. Only two releases have me at $300. DX07 (Because you get TWO FULL FIGURES) and This.

When regular 12" figures start hitting $300 for a single release I think Ill have to get out. DX11 is close....

Another key factor that makes it suck for the collector:

The movie being awesome! :lol

But I do have to say between SS and HT they are fullfilling my Movie Figure wish list pretty quick so I might be able to cross them all off before prices get too ridiculous! :lol

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

Yessir. By the time he is released the standard MMS line will be approaching $250, Hulk will be a bargain.

Exactly. Just like we NOW think $180 is a good deal. Just a year ago, R and B spidey was $150 with a ton of oaccessories.

Also I want to add that Im not arguing that I wouldnt havent liked an extra roaring Headsculpt or a gripping hand or a cool diorama base, but if that were to add more to the cost of this thing then Ill just rather take the bare bones at a more affordable price.

:goodpost::clap:exactly:

I know some love the accessories, and they are great. But I'd be fine with bare bones figures. As long as they come with the absolute MUST HAVES. ( Caps Shield, Thors Hammer, etc... )

And then after its released, praise how much they love it.

Yeah, I was happy to pre-order the DX Luke and I'm almost definitely going to get this too. Like you said, the next Hulk will probably just cost even more and I'll be happy with this one as long as the arms don't deteriorate. I'm still going through Alter Ego and will be using all the reward points I have to get the best deal possible, though.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

I envy you so much...

Me too. DX luke will end up costing me about $340 US because of the EX. Our Aussie retailers don't drop the prices much either if they stock them. Usually you just get it the same price as SS minus the shipping (minus the EX)

I already have one foot off the boat. I'm not sure if I'm even going to get more than a few Avengers figures. As the price goes up, my ability to justify such an expense for these things continues to erode.

Hulk was barely a consideration for me, even as I thought about getting the rest of the Avengers (and the rubber just makes it even more of a pass). $300 SRP for a 1/6th scale figure is not something I want to consider.

Everyone has that choice, and as HT and other companies continue to raise their prices, I believe you'll find more and more people being priced out of the hobby. It isn't in the companies' best interests in the long run, to keep raising the prices. They will eventually price enough people out of the hobby that it will reflect on their sales. It's just cause and effect. It's just common sense.

Make it so that only the very rich can afford your product, and you'll lose a substantial market of collectors.

If they can afford it. :lol

Yep. We all have a breaking point. I've said before, I'd like to drive a $100,000 Mercedes and have a private island with HOT GIRLS ( get it? not HOT TOYS ) feed me grapes all day long.

But I can't afford that.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

I think some of these "preorder lists" are showing who really buys these figures with cash on hand and who is putting them on credit cards.

$2000 worth of figures shipping in one quarter? Unless you're living in a mansion you're totally going into debt for this hobby. Busted! ;)

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics
