Tough crowd.

Very first glimpse of what/who is behind Vader's mask... meh.[emoji38]
I mean it was awesome. It's not like the figure doesn't have a scar. what I see on this is what I remember I don't remember every intricate detail of the scar and it's good enough to be a representation of what I saw as a child.

Not to mention I'm keeping the effin helmet on lol

Thank you very much man, this really helps a lot.
I wasnt aware.
The only Vader thread I checked out every once ina awhile was R1, cause I loved how it looked, and I loved the shiny finish.
But when it sold out, I wasn't really sure about paying eBay prices.
So when I saw an R1 on eBay with a great price, I jumped on it.

Yes, for my personal preference, I want the shiny Vader. Lol.
I'll stick with my R1 then for now, and I can wait and see if I eventually want to trade it up for ROTJ.
Thanks bud for the detailed explanation. That really helped . :1-1:

No problem. :duff

I get what you’re saying, as that peek for me showed that there is indeed someone or something under the armor, and it’s not totally robotic. However, I do agree with others that I wouldn’t say it’s one of the more memorable moments of ESB. Not even top 5. Top 10 would even be a stretch.

I’d have no interest in displaying a figure with the back of its head facing forward. :lol

Robe over or under armor?

White switches or gray switches on chest box?

Square green lights or rectangular green lights on boxes?

Big chin grill or small chin grill?

Gloves with vertical lines or horizontal lines?

Mean eyes or wide eyes?

High codpiece or low codpiece?

Belt boxes next to the buckle or spaced out?

Black eyes or amber eyes? :lol

The magic of seeing these onscreen things accurately reproduced and in your hands is what I mean - not so much displaying it. Obviously its inclusion was intended as a "oo, cool" thing before you put it on regular display. It would have been cool to see it done properly (both in paint and more exposed) - or just drop it altogether.

It might have been a cool DX accessory - an extra exposed head along with an accessory the scale of the Bespin weather vane or the ESB Vader stand: just the back of Vader's chamber chair, a caped body blank (ie just shoulders area) and the robot arm suspending the dome just above. The Meditation chamber is too big to have, but I'd display something along those lines alongside an ESB Vader.

But then I like little "vignette" displays like that - I'm building the truck gunner from the Raiders truck chase to display alongside my Indy on Arab horse.

I picked up this helmet (and most other key parts) from TA, so it'll be indahouse shortly anyway. I'm putting it all on a different body and suit.

To the right or to the left?

So many variances, few knew them all...

Someone should save this list for the next newb that asks: what are the differences between the Vaders?

Pretty sure they'll make you destroy the other stuff. They did the same to me and later messaged that they hadn't received destroyed pics, but never said anything about that in their original message

I would just take a hammer to a Hasbro Vader and tell them it's the hot toys version.

Lol sideshow tells me I have to go on a list for a replacement helmet because they don't send full figures for a problem part. Furthermore they have no replacements yet Then I come here and see someone got a full figure for a replacement. What a bunch of ********. I'm calling them today, if they can't give me a time frame I'm returning this broke POS.

Less than impressed with their support thus far. I was even offered a 20 dollar credit to just keep the broken figure and be happy with that. Who in their right effin mind would buy a 300 dollar figure, get it with a broken helmet of all things, the most front and center piece, and decide that 20 bucks is worth living with it. Pathetic.

Wow, not to add insult to injury but I am in the same position as you and they offered me $25...

They haven't said anything about me destroying the arm I got that does not light up, of course they put me on a waiting list too as parts are not available yet for him...

Canada Clone

From my understanding if they send you more than one piece they make you destroy the extras, not the original defective one. An example I saw on here someone needed a replacement punisher vest. They sent a body that was wearing the vest, undershirt and pants with legs, hands, and head removed. They told him to take the vest off and destroy the other pieces. It does not make sense. It seems maybe their support staff are worried about breaking the piece by removing it so they make you do it but don't want to send you a label to return the other pieces?

Although...if they send me a full body to replace the head I could always build a pyre and send him off that way ...

I hate bad customer service...

Anything but from Timewalker so far. Received my Vader (and Fett) today. Overload on new toys. But Vader looks spectacular so far.

So what does Sideshow do if you DONT destroy the things they ask? I remember years back where people were required to destroy an item BEFORE they’d send you the replacement. But asking you to destroy it after you’ve a,ready received the replacement? That just seems asinine.

They bill you for it.

They bill you for it.

Yeah, and it's not a random $20-30 either - it's a pretty high percentage of the overall figure cost. Can't find the old e-mail they sent to me.

And they will sometimes come after you many weeks later, though for minor parts I've found they don't seem to care.

Took a few quick extra pics of my vader. Still really liking it. Lighting playing some funny tricks with the helmet mouth/grill. Quick cameo from a sandtrooper as well.
