I that happens then I'll cough up cash for old falcon but I'm willing to take the risk rather than buy one I'm not really in love with.

If they make him, it will probably get announced before all the AoU figures are available!I want the Cap 3 Falcon now lol
It's tough to say what they will do, and don't forget that Marvel may be at the peak of its popularity right now, for all we know. It's possible that some fatigue or disinterest will set in. I'm not saying no one will care, but if overall interest and popularity dip just a little, that could mean a lot for the more obscure characters/figures. In that case, who knows if characters like Falcon, Scarlet Witch, etc. will get additional figures made of them?
Another possibility is that another studio will move in and cannibalize some of the market. There are a lot of variables to consider.
I pretty much agree with your thoughts. Everything has a lifecycle. Heck, even Apple will not be on top of the mountain forever. It is tough to say and there are a lot of variables in play. Not only may the movies experience fatigue, but the hobby may too at some point. The hobby has changed pretty drastically in the last few years, and not just in the steady price hikes; their rate of production has also grown considerably also. They went from under-doing lines to borderline overdoing them. Scarecrow/Demon Bats was their 10 year anniversary set and that was MMS140. 4-4½ years later we're looking at a "guess what MMS300 is going to be" contest. I mean I feel like I received my Man of Steel yesterday.
Personally I don't mind if they keep completing lines down to the Chitauri, but soon we're going to be 12 Caps, 6 Widows, 8 Thors and 432 Starks into it.

Yup. How long Apple's, 1/6's or the MCU's life span will be, no one knows but in the immortal words of Agent Romanoff ... nothing lasts forever.
Maybe someone else has said that before too
It may not last forever, but it's possible they will last decades longer. Transformers and Star Wars have pretty much been on shelves for thier entire existence. Mattel and hasbro are both massive companies that have been around a long time. Bowen has been making statues for 30 years (maybe a bit less but a long while ). So it's possible hot toys can continue for 20 or more years in the future. Especially if films continue to do well and expand. Heck we have not even gotten into dc and Star Wars (new) yet and those two alone could (if done well in film and figure) carry 1/6 long into the future. 12 inch (essentially 1:6 scale) has been around since the beginning of figures. The first action figure was a late 1930s 12 inch superman. It wasn't until much later that figure shrunk down. So I don't think 1/6 is going anywhere as long as there's a market for toys.
BTW, Mackie is such a great choice for Falcon. I loved every scene of Winter Soldier and AoU that he was in. He just plays it so perfectly!
Yea he was. Oh, and he makes a damn nice figure too.
Considering its technically just another Iron Man armor, and we all no how well those sell. They probably don't even look at it as a War Machine but just another Iron Man. Where as figs like Falcon, Odin, Nick Fury, etc they are unique figs unto them selves. Speaking of Fury, I seem to remember some talk of people waiting for the Fury fig for the Winter Soldier movie, but yet that never happened, despite his pretty big role in it.
I'm not saying Hot Toys won't make a Falcon, I'm just saying it's not set in stone as some people seem to think it is.
