Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS264 - X-Men: DOFP: Wolverine

Noooo! I bought 20,000 copies of DOFP from Amazon china in the hopes of winning this figure and now it's mass produced?!?!

As mentions $239 is the new $200.... random price hikes happen all the time :dunno

They do happen, but it doesn't mean it's justified. All this figure comes with is some plastic trays and a paper box.

I am not justifying the price hikes. I think HT prices jumped the shark long ago and I understand the frustration over the random increases. I find conversations about them pointless. Collectors are still buying as prices continue to rise therefore, the spikes will continue justified or not.

Well I actually think less and less collectors are buying. Like DiFabio said, look at SS's page and you'll see so many HT they are begging to get rid of. More and more. It's over saturation, over inflation.

That never happened a few years ago.

But true, there is no point in conversing about them I'm just pointing out the obvious I think. I'm not much into HT anymore outside of a few select releases: ASM2 figure, maybe Elder Predator, a new P1 if they ever do it, and their new Star Wars figs, but that's about it.

I have the Origins Wolvie and I'm actually selling him because I want to concentrate more on comic stuff.

I still think it's a great looking figure, just too bare bones for what they ask for.

I agree. Ebay, SS and this board deals can be found for those willing to wait. While I am fortunate enough to have funds to buy these figures, I am not throwing money towards items I don't feel warrant. I'll own this figure but I'll wait because as most have stated it isn't a $270 figure. If it was an exclusive I wanted or on verge of selling out then all bets off. Until then wait out the storm.

They have to acquire each actor’s head sculpt license individually, and Howard has said they already have several actors on board, they’re just in the planning stage, so we should be getting more figures from the film. They probably started with Wolverine first because he’s the most popular, and they probably already have a good relationship with Jackman’s team.

Hopefully the next figure is Fassbender Magneto. I'd drop another $250 in a heartbeat for that.

Did they really say they've gotten other actor's to sign off on their likenesses?

They would be smart to release him next, if this Wolvie and that Magneto sell great, it might inspire HT to give us more characters from the movie.

A 70s Charles packaged with a wheelchair, and a cerebro base and helmet would probably be my grail figure.

HKFC: 2012 Anicom Fair revealed Xmen Professor Xavier but since then there aren't any updates, care to share?

Howard: I believe most of you have seen the prototype and the movie licencor approved too. However, at a later stage the movie studio told us we would now need to acquire every actors head sculpts licensing approval by ourselves, hence the delay. The Xmen movie license is quite tedious, and as mentioned before, we need to talk to each actor. Some of them have given us the green light, so we are currently still in the planning stage of who to produce first.
