You people must hate Mattel Elites then...

Exposed joints and ab crunch everywhere! :lol:lol:lol

My son's will only play with elites. They hate the other lines. Lol

As amusing as this is comparing different scales, budgets and character designs to question joint choices isn't exactly proving anyones points cause some costumes and armours lend themselves well to concealing joints better than others. Same with scale, generally the larger the figure the easier it may be to lessen the look of the joints.

But regardless of the arguments the joints haven't changed since the figure went up for po, so if you were expecting them to they didnt (this is HT afterall), the only thing that's changed here is poorly posed pictures (even the best HT figure can look like a toy when posed poorly) appearing showing the joints more than they should be seen if posed properly. To me it seems fairly easy to assume this figure was designed to look good in two poses (throne & standing) so the joint choices were made to accommodate the joint movement needed to perform the sitting pose and then efforts to conceal the joints.

I think they did a great job when posed correctly, but the elbow joints could have been sculpted slightly or even painted, but that runs the risk of scraping during movement.

For me none of this is an issue, I inspected the pics when po went up and was happy with what I saw and put my money down. Release has shown me that it's almost identical to those pictures except the addition of another loin cloth piece so my opinion hasn't changed. This is an argument no-one can win cause it's based on individuals opinions and how people interpret what they see.

The problem with this debate is that someone started this debate with a huge troll. They GREATLY exaggerated by stating that Thanos (including the throne) looked like a $20 figure at TRU. That took the debate on Thanos' joints and put EXTREME fuel on the flames.

We all have our opinions on what we like and we are free to post them, but posting something saying a figure looks like it is worth $20 is just not beneficial to any discussion on Hot Toys.

If you don't like a figure feel free to comment, but try to not use extreme hyperbole. Also do not repeat it over and over fighting with the people in the discussion. Understand that many (or most) people in this discussion plan to spend $400 on this figure and want to feel good about it. It's like going to someone's house warming party and saying, "Wow, this looks like a $2,000 shed from Home Depot". Do you think they'd invite you back?

As for my opinion, the joints don't stand out at all to me in the pictures. I think Thanos looks epic!

Thanks guys, always appreciated to see your comments. :)

Here the vid review - had to tone a bit on the purple colors, but I got it right now:

Best piece in this release is by far the headsculpt, really digging that:

https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AAXzzj0UJWE/VmJSRU6/s1600/IMG][/QUOTE]thanks for the review

Not sure if he could fit, but I would like to see a pic of hulk in the throne(from anyone)

another great review by xenomorph!
i think thanos is certainly not perfect, escpecially the joints and battery compartments.
however, the head sculpt, armor details and paint job are of excellent level.

I really understand that there must be some bigger joints to get him in the right poses. But the 2-sides paintjob on the backside of the thighs...thats really awkward and weak. Well, i got him in the collection now and he'll stay probably for a long time. It will be interesting to see if Hot Toys will re-release also the Throne or not with the second Thanos. If not the first release probably will rise in value quite fast. So ssjoeduecati boy pointed it out well in his review: One on the throne and a second one in an action pose with infinity gauntlet would make sense. :)

Here some photos of him in the collection surrounded by other Marvel heros:

I don't see too much "rising in value" from the Marvel camp these days. Even if the IW Thanos doesn't come with the space toilet people will always want the newer version no matter how much they complain.

I thought about canceling 4 a second last night but he is a keeper. The throne alone I'd buy 4 a 100 and Thanos being 300 buck's in my eyes for a larger scale figure with a ton of presence on the shelf. You see him in Xeno's pics and he just commands attention and will look amazing displayed with the rest of evil baddies at his feet ready to do his evil bidding. Yea F your debate i'm happy and keeping him.

There's no way trust ironman on top detrolf with no stand for that fragile tinman ready to explode on impact from fall.

nice review Xeno, any chance you could measure the figures height, width and depth for me? Want to have a custom case made for him to stand in. Just need the measurements so I can judge how small I can go without it being restricting.

So you think the joints look great huh, who needs their head examined??

You dodged the larger point. You stated that you thought the Thanos figure (with stand) is of equal quality to a $20.00 figure at TRU. That is using EXTREME hyperbole at best. Once again, if you truly believe this, you need your head examined.

I understand you hate the joints. They aren't a big problem for me (or most of us). Why don't you just stop posting here and complaining. We all understand the issue and your opinion.

That might have been hyperbole on Skull's part, it doesn't look like a $20 dollar figure. But it certainly doesn't look like a $400-$500 one.

We've seen things like this that are actually bigger and more complex for at or under 100 bucks.

There's an easy remedy for not liking a figure... Beating a dead horse day after day isn't fixing anything.

I'll order this with my rewards next month, gonna order Thor sometime soon, then I guess that's it until Vision is released.

I haven't bought a 1/4 Neca in a while, but from my experience (same with their 7 inch line) - they do not have very much articulation. Especially for the beefier characters. You'd definitely not be able to get them in a sitting pose like this. Does that mean that I'm ok with the exposed joints? No. Those elbow joints should look better, but I don't think I've seen any examples from Neca that have the same level of articulation and are as complex as Thanos. Again, correct me if I'm wrong as I stopped collecting the Neca 1/4 a couple of years ago.

A lot of people are giving out about the joints at the elbow. The predators have visible joints at the elbow too and it didn't bother a lot of people.

The exposed joints is why I never bought a Predator figure. Could never figure out why HT never made one with rubber arms one . Hopefully by 2017 HT will use good judgement and give us a non visible joint Thanos. This Thanos is not worth my $$$.

I Cant wait until have and he starts shipping and watch all the bull change to praise. It happen's lots OMG i hate the joints on back of legs i'll never see and yes may see arm joints big flippin deal i could care less. I bet many will easily pay 100 for a throne and almost most figure's are 2 to 3 bills and him being larger scale n new body yes = pricetag. I love some love to bash a figure they never have intention of ever buying. :wave
