Don't see why it would be a PPS.

Who would get the DX treatment though? Which character would merit it? IM? Cap? Wolverine? Is anyone from the MCU as big as either Batman or Superman?

Spidey or IM.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Guardians of the Galaxy: Thanos Collectible Figure

Spidey or IM.

Spidey? While the ASM2 figure has been a steady seller, it isn't flying off the shelves. Perhaps it's the lukewarm response and reception to the Webb movies?

IM seems like the most likely candidate, but there seems to be a new Tony headsculpt every year or every other year. Is there going to be one definitive one, with PERS, as part of a DX line?

And the tons of accessories that are synonymous with the DX line are already being sold in sets. Not to mention the fancy light-up bases have already been sold with armors like the XLII.

Yeah Tony Stark. Complete Iron Man 1 Tony Stark set.

While I agree that the last movie didn't go over well, but when talking about popular superheroes, Spidey is the one up there with Bats and Sups.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Guardians of the Galaxy: Thanos Collectible Figure

I don't know if Spidey's as big as either of those guys (I guess it really all depends on the particular poll), but yeah, he's the flag bearer for Marvel. While RDJ and Marvel have turned IM from a B superhero into an A superhero, he likely hasn't eclipsed Spidey.

Sales wise...for hot toys specifically...Iron man is the largest seller. Superman and batman are not even close. That's specific to hot toys though.

Overall merchandising the most profitable character is Spiderman. There was a recent report that detailed who in 2014 or 2013 had the highest sales/profits. spidey was well in front of batman and superman and everyone else. But that's everything. Lunchboxs and hats and trapper keepers (if those still get made lol).

But the sales that matter for this topic are Hot toys own sales. And that puts iron man 1.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Guardians of the Galaxy: Thanos Collectible Figure

I doubt this will be up for pre-order very soon. The proto they showed at Toy Soul isn't finished. The throne is wrong (look at the headrest and bottom for example). His feet don't touch the floor and i have no idea how they would solve that.

I can't wait to see the full reveal and price. I would be shocked if it's under $550 the way current prices are going.

Maybe if they ratchet his feet at the ankles (kinda tight) that may solve that foot issue.

I cant help but wonder...wont the eventually make a Thanos with the Infinity Guantlet? That is the versio. I want to see. This fig is straight boss though.

yeah but probably not for 3-4 years from now

We waited this long anyway, what's a couple more years? Besides if the next Thanos figure is not preferred we can always go back to this one, same with the two Loki figures.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Guardians of the Galaxy: Thanos Collectible Figure

yeah think i would prefer the gauntlet ver later and would rather have a Ronan 1/6 until then.

but i can see myself getting this, hard to resist.

There's quite a premium to pay for Loki now. Lots of things could happen between now and four years from today. Hot Toys could lose their license, you may not collect, etc.

Good points all around. Not to beat the horse, but the hobby is getting too expensive to warrant it now. I can only justify so many purchases per year. But it is Thanos. This is a must have for pretty much anyone. I just see this being a figure much bigger than a standard 1/6 and with a price tag to boot. How big is Thanos anyway? Anyone know off hand?

Got the exact same feeling. I wanna wait but already got starlord groot and rocket on pre-order.RONAN HANDS DOWN IF THERE IS A CHANCE! if Drax comes and he is modified with a better expression I will get him as well then get gamora and if I have the full set up why not get thanos it's not like he always has the infinity gauntlet and waiting another 5 years is a LONG time :impatient::wink1:

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Guardians of the Galaxy: Thanos Collectible Figure

Hot Toys could shut down next year. Who knows what the future holds.
