Not my pic. But it looks cool

And the "plastic paint " wold be exactly the same on diecast. You can not visually tell any difference between them. And the paint bonds better to plastic so it's more durable. And groot, not really diecast. Lol

Sorry what? I said nothing about diecast Motu. The paint job looks "plastic" to me. But if you're arguing Ultron as a superior figure to Groot, you might be in the minority there. I was just talking about whiplash 2.0 in another thread, that figure is a fantastic example of a well done "metallic" paint job, the diecast and plastic parts are indiscernible from one another. Plus, as stated in my post, my major gripe was with the lack of articulation.

In my personal opinion, I don't think the figure is worth the ask, and I voted with my wallet.

Is that okay with you?

Yeah, it does. I'd happily pay more for the figure include some diecast parts.

i've said it before, i'm not the biggest fan of diecast in general. but i think it really adds something to these figures.

i would MAYBE pay more for it as long as it wasn't more than $400. i feel like i'd need to have this figure in hand to get a proper impression of how the current $375 price fits with it.

i'd really love to see two identical molds, one using diecast and the other using all plastic and seeing if any of us could discern the difference. (in person, not through photos)

They'd look near enough the same, I think. I don't think you'd be able to tell without picking them both up.

Do you have the 42 and 43? There are parts on the 43 that are plastic that are diecast on the 42. Just to look at it you can't tell. You have to touch and them. There's no visual difference.

After much internal debate and back and forth I decided to cancel my Ultron Prime PO. The articulation and plastic paint job had me nervous, and then late last night The Rocket and Groot set showed up from a local seller and I decided to jump on that instead. A little disappointed Ultron didn't turn out to be the figure I was hoping for, but in the end I am happy with my decision. I don't think we'll be getting a full size Groot in GOTGV2, and he's just too great to pass up. Now my fingers are crossed that we'll be getting an Ultimate Ultron down the line with some waist articulation!

I think you made the right choice. Rocket and Groot are some of my favorite figures to date.

He was meant to be beautiful :rock:rock

Wow, the joints are super stiff on this dude! That's good and bad. No wonder why you and Budget thought that certain parts didn't move

yes, that is certainly good and bad.. but i'd rather have tight joints than super loose ones.. tight joint fixes don't require any added substances where as loose joint fixes, for the most part, do.

i keep teetering between being 100% excited for this, and 100% hoping for them to announce an ultimate version.

i feel like by the time this hits the states i'll have talked myself into getting all three versions lol.

After watching Civil War, I'm happy that I'm getting Ultron. It really serves to highlight how Ultron's actions were no joke in the long run, especially since the incident with Sokovia heavily serves as the main backdrop for the entire conflict of the registration and the resulting "civil war". While that might seem obvious what with the registration movement being called the "Sokovia Accords", I feel I should highlight the fact that they really double down on how horrible of an incident it was for the whole world and it really sets up a number of central conflicts in the film.

So yeah, I guess Ultron actually left his mark enough that it's really felt throughout the film.

Spot on. It was we some to see some of the fall out from Sokovia in CW. Still really excited about this figure, I wouldn't want to choose between him and Rocket/Groot - all so damn fine.

:exactly: :lol

When I get my figure in and if I post pics, the header will be:

"I wanted to show you guys. I don't...have anyone else." :lol

:lol:lol I keep running that line to my girl lately every time I want to show her something related to the hobby

He has so many good lines, I don't know how some people could be so disappointed with him

I agree though. Him being voiced by James Spader helped me like him even more. James Spader has one of the coolest, most compelling voices I've heard and delivers his lines with such conviction. I loved him in Boston Legal as Alan Shore.

Got him last thursday, really loving him, but his lights sure need to be on permantly to enjoy it even more.

I missed this post yesterday. I agree, tighter joints are way better than looser. I rather hear the creaks and struggle to lift the arm a bit than to have a floppy mess that can't hold a pose

I'm already sold on any Ultron version they give us as long as it turns out as good as this. My only concern about the MK 1 is the articulation. I'm hoping HT will impress us in the end with that

:clap Great pics and I like what you did with the Infinity Stones.

What do you think of the Toys Era Cap Shield?
