i wouldn't say HT's are cheaper than statues....

1/6 statues are like $150 or lower. Sure you could find a few examples that are $200+.

And for those few examples, I don't get it. Why pay for a 1/6 statue over a HT considering HT are mixed media with 100% better paint and sculpt.

When i get a figure i do try different poses but it's just to find something i like then i leave it for awhile. I have reposed and moved deadpool around more than any other figure just because it's a fun figure with a lot of different display options. I do rotate figures every few months due to space and that is when i will change things around.

I kind of see them as cheaper statues that can be posed. When I open mine I just check for defects and put it on the stand in a museum pose and leave it as is. I feel the opposite of a few posters above where I don't really get pleasure out of moving it around, testing the joints and accessories, I like placing it in the detolf and looking at them.As mentioned before I buy Lego and Transformers to fiddle with but don't see any reason to fiddle with Hot Toys.

Pretty much what I do as well. I take them out just to dust roughly once a month and re-pose on occasion if I ever come across a pose for a figure that I like and feel it's better than the one I currently have. I'll also sometimes switch sculpts on figures every so often if it comes with separate sculpts (for me, it sometimes takes doing that and leaving each one on for an extended period of time to get a feel for it and decide which one I'm feeling more). I pretty much just like to display them and simply admire them. As do guests whenever I have company.

And as mentioned, I feel they're actually better than statues. The amount of detail on them is insane, a lot of them have great likenesses and you can pose them any way you want. While statues have great detail also, I feel that sometimes HT sculpts actually bear better likenesses and have better paint apps than what statues do.

I generally like to keep each of my figures as stock as possible, and generally without mixing and matching accessories. I pretty much have my display with these figures as you would see them if you walked into the HT Secret Base, for instance.

By all means do whatever you like with your figures. It just seems to me to be a bit of a waste of all the time HT spend making all the articulation possible. The way I see it, it's the same kind of thing as owning classic cars, but never driving them.

This made me chuckle. My father left me a fully restored 67 Mustang Fastback that I drive all the time but I don't play with my Hot Toys.

I just don't have the time to be reposing these everyday or week. I have had 2 days off in the last 3 weeks and the last thing i am going to be doing on my rare day off is reposing my figures. I bought these for the details. So i nice pose that shows off the figures best features is all i really need.

Not saying I handle my figures every day, or that anyone else should. I have some I haven't touched for a long time. My point was just that buying an articulated figure and then never using the articulation seems a bit pointless.

Sometimes just knowing what something can do is good enough for people. People buys cars that can go 250+ mph but never go that fast. An argument can be made for anyone's reason, but since I didn't buy anyone's HTs but mine, I couldn't care less what a person does with THEIR figures. To me this type of discussion seems endless and pointless. I'm only commenting in hopes that we could continue the wonderful discussion on Ultron.

They are "action figures", thank you....

Yes, everyone's different, world would be boring if everyone was the same, and so on.

Someone post more pictures of Ultron so I can feel conflicted about buying him again! That's more fun.

lol damn that was quite the discussion, I can only talk for myself and with "play" I don't actually mean going pew pew pew with the figures, but play as in pose them up every once in a while, cause sometimes with a new pose, you can find some new found love for an older figure in your collection.

In the meantime enjoy this pic that landed on the scrap table in favour of another shot I took: :p

:love That looks incredible!

I don't think anyone means 'pew pew pew' when they say 'play' :lol

Another great photo. Love the angle and the posing on this one.

Great photo. It is tearing down my resolve not to order from HK and wait for BBTS to get them in.

:exactly: :goodpost:

When it comes down to it, it's pretty much that a lot of people are myopic I feel. They can't fathom how or why anyone would possess a differing opinion, a different viewpoint, a different belief or do anything differently than what they do.

It's essentially like telling someone that you can't understand why they like blue when you like red and then trying to have a debate on which one is the "better" color.
