the first highend hulkbuster has been released in japan and Hong Kong!
SHF bandai hulkbuster!

Looks great - can't wait for mine to arrive! I should have him in a couple weeks hopefully. I think my only issue with it is that it looks too "fresh off the showroom floor". I'd prefer a little weathering but it's definitely only a minor thing for me.

Some very good points :goodpost:

:yess: Glad I can bring back some buzz to the HT HB fan community~

You mentioned sanding the four shoulder latches (?) to make them sharper...those parts have always bugged me on the HT HB, they're way too rounded for my liking; hope they're sharper on the production piece.

Correct, all the prototype versions show 4 dull & rounded shoulder latches. I sure hope the final product will have sharpened edges in all gold & silver chrome parts for HB. Otherwise, i may chance on messing it up by sanding...
:slap.

Now here's a question for HT collectors... does Hot Toys tend to use sharper molds for their released products? and do they usually surprise owners with unexpectedly improved detail/articulation/gimmicks (compared to shown prototypes)

Wow.. Japanese engineering is quite impressive. Photos and video depict SHF Figuarts HB to have very functional parts fitting perfectly together -without the ugly gaps. The dynamic poses are quite imposing as well..albeit the loose joints (no pun intended).

It doesn't have the "gaps" Only because the joints extend. You can't think the way the arm does the forward punch is without gaps? It's got good articulation. No doubt. But the "gap" is still there. Those are there to prevent **** from breaking and rubbing. The movies don't have them because they don't actually have to abide by silly things like physics and don't need to worry if an arm has real range of motion. They make those things in 3D...they are statues. Otherwise of you want articulation there needs to be room to articulate. I don't get why this bothers people.

Well-said Motux... joint "gaps" are definitely something that can't be avoided altogether. However, from an aesthetic stand-point it can really have an impact on the overall silhouette especially when photographing. And I think you're totally right about what real motion requires. There definitely needs to be a compromise between mechanics and aesthetics. The SHF HB definitely have "gaps" in his telescoping arms but they can be cleverly hidden -that's what i find neat! When such gaps can be neatly tucked away I feel ecstatic because it's a bonus. It shows ingenuity behind these figures.

Apologies for miscommunication on my part.. didn't mean to come off snotty & nit-picky. After all, i find HT does an amazing job juggling between articulation and design based on your examples (i.e. Striker).

Does anybody plan on getting more than one high-end HB? I'd like to see a comparison video between the HT, KA, SHF, MAFEX and maybe even the Comicave 1/4, if that ever comes to fruition. I just don't know if anybody has the wherewithal or is crazy enough to do it. :lol

Cheapest Ive seen him was $750 from Pop Culture Zone which is where I got him. Beats paying $825 through sideshow.

Yeah I think it was. I wish mine was $500. Paid full from Sideshow Collectibles not including deliver. Son of a ***** :lol
