Scarlett always wears wigs when she plays BW right? I know her hair is short and shaved underneath right now, so that is definitely a wig for CW.

I think her costume will be back to black for CW. She'll be wearing her Shield outfit rather than the Avengers one.

I hated how they portrayed Widow in AoU. Just another damsel. Typical man-centric movie tropes.

What bothers me even more is that they had such progress with her in Winter Soldier... but then we got this nonsense in AoU.

If only that was AoU's only issue.

I have no doubt I'll be tempted by a CW Widow, even if the suit is plain black or close to the AOU version. I love long haired Widows. If nothing else, it might give me an excuse to make a civvie Widow, like I originally wanted.

Yeah that was crappy, I feel like she would have gotten out of the cell easily once Ultron left, or figured something out
and yeah she had her moments, and definitely took out her fair share of sentries

Agreed. It's writing choices like this that make Bruce/Nat not work for me - they had to mess with Nat's character/capabilities to make it "work" - and to be fair, Bruce doesn't come out that good in it, either.

If only that was AoU's only issue.

Outside of the Bruce/Natasha relationship, I only had minor issues with AOU. I still greatly enjoy it (more every time I see it, actually).

I really don't get these thoughts. And the main reason I say it is as much as BW is an ultimate Badass Female character when it comes to more of the Avenger's Story lines she really is just a Normal Woman in fights with Gods, Monsters and Robots. She's going to have a hard time being as "total badass"
In WS it was more everage men she was dealing with and a couple "super humans"

Hawkeye's line really summed it up, robots all over the city and he's got a "Bow and Arrow"

It's also why I don't mind her AoU suit, she's not really running around as a "spy/assassin" but more of a general fighter, which isn't a bad thing.

I think we can attribute a lot of Widow's feelings in the movie to her mind getting screwed with by Wanda ... or at least that's just the conclusion I've come to. Sure she was flirting in the beginning (despite what Cap said) but she was completely vulnerable and a wreck by the time they got to the Barton farm. Being forced to relive her time in the red room had quite the effect on someone who is always in control.

It's part of the problem of having two mortal humans, introduced into the franchise as support characters (Iron Man 2 and Thor), who while on a level above the fighters of Agents of SHIELD, are not quite up to the raw power of an enhanced human, "God" (used loosely), man in a state of the art suit that no faction anywhere else in the world can reproduce, and big green beast. She may have been kick-ass in TWS, but she couldn't foot it with Steve or Bucky... She knew that herself. The fact that BW and Hawkeye have been able to foot it with enemy cannon fodder in the final 15 min of both Avenger movies, is pretty much an achievement in itself, because in this version of the universe they really are very mortal and UP... a bit like Arrow in the TV series. No way he should be able to go one on one with The Flash..

AoU BW comes off as just a troubled little girl in love with a big bad super hero that all little teen boys can dream of "protecting". It's vomit inducing.

I didn't see it that badly. While the romance was a little too much (especially the last part of the movie), I saw it was merely warming and humanising Natasha a bit, especially after her past, just as the side story with Clint was bringing the human factor back for him... I don't think if it was Falcon or another of the mortal, even more minor SHIELD/Avenger characters being rescued, then this would be an issue... Especially if there was there was a romance hint with a more powerful female character like Scarlet Witch..

Not sure what she could have done against Ultron if she did get out of the cage. If she was like the comic book character and had the Russian version of the super solider serum in her maybe, but the movie's just have her as a normal person. Well trained but still just a plain human. Seems to me she was better off doing what she did and letting the other's know where to find her.

She did, and she took out the sentries pretty easily which made her look awesome, not to mention her bike scenes and how she got the cradle out of the truck, just epic.

I thought she was really great for the most part

He could have dropped Widow to her death, walked into the Quinjet, snapped Hawkeyes neck, and flew to his base with the cradle

that's a good question, he went there after the Safehouse scenes didnt he? I imagine he was either dropped off via the quinjet or used the suit
Any explanation was most likely(and like a lot of things I felt were needed) cut from the movie
Also another point about Ultron, he could have done something smarter with BW, did he really just nab her so he could lock her in a cage and show off his new body
