Before we let the idea that the eyes are set too deeply on the Jnix sculpt, take a look at the famous "Blue Milk" scene from ANH. There are more prolonged profile angles on Luke in this scene than just about any other scene in the movie. Like many of you, I thought the Jnix eyes were set a bit far back too...then I happened to watch this scene and was fairly well floored.

I'm not saying that the Jnix effort is flawless, particularly with the challenge painting it brings, and the eyes may well be a bit deep still, but see what you think of this. The shots of the RIGHT profile are particularly reminiscent of the Jnix head:

Keep in mind this scene was shot in a very tight space so it may have necessitated using a wider angle lens then the majority of the rest of the film. A wider angle lens can easily distort proportions.

Nice pics.

Great shots.

Great pics TonTon! :rock

:duff Thanks, guys. I ended up selling the Farmboy Luke but I'm glad I kept this version of the short stormtrooper. I really feel like the head on this one comes very close to the prototype for whatever reason. One last one from the set.

Interesting. I over-layed the 2 photos (next to bottom) in PS, and they are closer than my eye tells me in real life.

Is it the jaw line that throws the profile? The chin is a bit 'strong', for sure.

Could be something between the cheek bone and jawline. I saw this sculpt in person and while there are some great elements there's something off that didn't work for me. I think that's why someone needs to do a sculpt for ANH with a built in neck like Kenobi often gets. I guess that presents a problem since his outfit reveals his neck line, so maybe it would only work for the stormtrooper, X-wing pilot look.

Anyhow, as nothing else has been revealed I'm getting more motivated to pick up the Bespin Luke again if I see one for a decent price.

From those comparison photos it looks like the corners of the mouth and back of the nostrils are not set back far enough, which is what is probably still contributing to the "werewolf" look. And of course the eyes are still a bit too big as well.

ANH's Luke I don't think there is a enough detail on his face like the prototype
Especially on his cheeks he should have character lines and he should have murderous eyes brows where they join together
In fact I've just got the Luke ANH bandai 6 inch figure and looks better than HT's Luke IMG_3432.jpg

Ahoy!

I do like this guy, but he's keeping the hat on until I sculpt a new head. Decked out with all his gear though, he does look pretty good.

Can't wait to own a Luke skywalker 1:6 figure. Finally!

I've found the angle where I can see Mark Hamill!

oh yeah. that`s sad bandai got a little figure to look more like luke then a big company like HOT TOYS could not even come close.

Bandai is bigger than Hot Toys as a company. They been making toys since 1950s.

They can be considered as the Disney of the toy world, while hot toys is like the Lucas films.

Just got this figure today; I went home for lunch and it was delivered while I was there. So I bring it to the office (I work at a university), unbox and set it up on one of my bookshelves with lightsaber a-glow...and the first student to drop by my office afterwards is a student I have never met before, who is named Luke Walker.

...Clearly the universe is conveying its approval of my buying habits!

Did they notice and comment on the figure though? That's the question. :lol

Haha, my buddy who teaches told me this year he has a John Connor, a Kyle and a Reese in his class roll. I told him to be careful his computer doesn't go self-aware on him.

He did! He thought it looked pretty cool with the light, lol. Sadly, he also said that he didn't like his name and wanted to change it so that it didn't sound at all like a movie character. (I did offer the consolation that at least it was a cool and iconic movie?)
