i am ashamed to admit that i had no clue there was a difference. Why would there be a difference?

ESB Saber
30j5gyr.jpg
Has rivets at the end of the grips the ANH doesn't.
Has a different pattern on the "switch" (which is really the clamp that fits Flash cell fits on the camera)
It reuses the non on top near the blade and has a duplicate on the bottom.
Has a textured piece of tape that goes around the clamp

ANH Saber
lukeanh.jpeg
No rivets
Switch is on opposite side (at least in the scene when Obi Wan gives it to Luke- other times in ANH it flips around)
Pattern on switch are made of have "bubble" things which came out of a calculator
Has a glass "eye" on bottom rather than another nob like the top
no textured tape around the clamp.

Maybe Luke/Vader just changed it...don't Jedi/Sith as part of their training have to assemble and maintain their own lightsabers or something? Can't remember.
Nice looking props though, very cool. :)

According to Wookieepedia it's meant to be the same lightsaber in both ANH and ESB:

Anakin/Luke's lightsaber - Wookieepedia, the Star Wars Wiki - Wikia

The only reference to a difference, as already stated by Jaymas, is:

(In ESB the switch plate was replaced with part of a circuit board).

In terms of canon I guess you'd have to say that at some point he either repaired or upgraded the original saber.

Next question:

[h=3]Reappearance[/h]The lightsaber would mysteriously resurface some thirty years later,[SUP][13][/SUP] and was once wielded by Finn.[SUP][3][/SUP]

Does the saber carried by Finn correctly match the appearance in ESB?

Looks like I'll be giving my Luke the Sideshow saber. It's funny that Sideshow got it right, but I have noticed that Sideshow is better in accuracy with accessories often times. (something that is rather important to me)

Looks like he came out very close to the prototype... can't see any glaring differences. I don't see as strong of a likeness in the straight on shots, but in profile and 3/4 he looks fantastic.

Tunic material looks like a big improvement over what Sideshow did, but still seems like it's a bit stiff... but hopefully it will take a water treatment.

His lightsaber is wrong. He's got the Empire version of the handle.

That actually bothers me quite a bit... HT is usually very good about small details and I know Sideshow got the differences right between ROTS, ANH and ESB; for HT to not is pretty disappointing. Especially since this one has a light up feature which means to use that feature you can't swap out the handle.

Hmm, I figured it was the same mold. That makes it a bit puzzling as to why they would make an entirely new one that was inaccurate.
