It's subtle, but the eyes are too small and deeper set than his are, but too small mostly...compare the sclera...

I see Hamill in it but this comment is spot on, the eyes are to close to the nose, small and deeply set. It loses the innocent quality that Hamills' face had in ANH

IMO, its not perfect but but I like it. I don't feel the same way about the HT Han or Obi Wan.

:exactly:

This is not 100% Hamill for sure, but I see more Hamill in this sculpt than I do HF or Alec Guinness in the HT Han and Ben.

To my eye, this head on its own is pretty readily identifiable as Luke but Han and Ben - taken off their iconic SW outfits - start to look more like generic people.

The major bonus of this head over the SSC Luke X-Wing is that the HT looks like a living person shrunken down, whereas the SSC LUke (while I do like the sculpt) has that doll-like quality. HT just delivers realism in a pretty mind-blowing way, even if their underlying sculpts aren't quite as stand-out in terms of likeness.

That looks a lot like Luke right there.... :clap

Lightsaber is nice and bright!

Frekin' awesome pic Para! Thanks for posting, to me eye detail is amazing, too small or not, wht is there to compare him to that is out currently SS version? This is miles better & away from that...IMO.

^^ That pic of HT Han looks like an oil painting in the face. Did you use some kind of software to do that?

:goodpost: I'm with you there. While I don't agree 100% on which likeness is better than which (think Solo looks more like Ford but an odd expression than this like Hamill), the realism wins out and it's a pleasure to be able to look at the sculpts up close and appreciate their level of detail.

I put the Hoth sculpt under fluorescent lighting next to the HT Han and my girlfriend said the Hoth figure looked like a dead person. :lol

Still want to see the HT Head with the X-wing helmet on. Likeness wise I think from the nose down the HT is just as good. I'm just not sure if the more close-set eyes will read as Hamill under the helmet, and more importantly will it look slightly out of scale and will the hair or lack of it be an issue? I think the hair showing on the SS figure is pretty cool.

It looks like luke skywalker in 1977 to me. It's the toy I wanted when I was 6 years old and would have completely destroyed. Can't wait to own it.

To be fair, QGF, those Luke photos are of the prototype. The final production sculpt doesn't seem to be painted the same way.

I just finished watching the TheClipperKing's review. Good stuff. The training remote pose made me laugh - I appreciate the use of humor there. I also love it that they wired the selves in order to get a natural sleeve hang in some poses, that's something I thought was a problem without the wire on my old SS version. I would have loved to have seen the other hair piece on the sculpt without the hat. I've wondered if that would make a good "wet head" look for the Trooper version. I can't wait till they start shipping to the US. I have one PO'd now, and I am likely to pick up another one to upgrade my custom Ceremonial/Yavin Luke. Thinking about customization, learning it had a "fat suit" on is interesting and I'll have to decide if I should use it on my Yavin figure.

Question about the boots? Is the "foot" part an actual boot a foot fits in or is just a sculpted foot the looks like a boot? I'm trying to figure out what I will need to use this body for a Yavin Luke with different boots.

My only disappointment about this figure that I can see is that the lightsaber is wrong for the movie. I'm guessing they may have have used the ESB version because the will use the same parts for Finn (who uses the ESB version) when he comes out. The only other thing about the lightsaber that bugs me a little (but it might be just me) is that I don't like the way it is facing in the fixed light up hand. I would prefer the longer "top" part that covers the emitter to be posed in a way where it is closer to the body because it always seemed like it was a guard and the section the exposes more of the blade near the hilt should face the one you are attacking. Again, that's a really particular complaint and I can put the non light up saber in his hands any way I like. But over all, great figure right out of the box, and I think the high "score" TheClipperKing gives it is justified.

The boot is all sculpted and is two different pieces. So the foot part is separate from the rest to give better articulation.

I don't see Mark Hamill (looks no better or worse than Sideshow's Pilot Luke as far as likeness goes), but I do see a nicely detailed and painted head. Looks like a quality made figure.

I'm genuinely bamboozled by that! I see a very strong likeness to Hamill. Everything screams it to me.

How realistic are the sculpted ankle strappings? The only part of the Sideshow Luke figure I have is the leg wrappings (got it loose - why, I have no idea) and thought I might use them when this guy arrives.

And yeah, if you don't see Hamill in Para's blue lightsaber pic, seriously, something's wrong. It's like a SW promo pic from the late 1970's.

I agree. Me too. So I am very happy with the sculpt and I can't wait until it ships here in the US. Thanks for all the pictures Paramoremcr88!
