No, Ben is just a regular elbow joint. So if Luke is the same it should work on the Bespin figure.

I imagine a lot of people will make that change for the correct lightsaber.

Not so sure about that. Bespin Luke switched out on the lower forearm below the two elbow joints. The ANH Luke Ben and Vader all switch out above the elbow near the bicep. I'm sure you could do it just not without modifying and opening up the elbow.

So that Bespin joint will just pull out at the elbow joint the same way?

Yes. The elbow is its own piece with a male end on both sides.

I think Pjam's idea is a great solution to have the proper Luke cross sabers with Vader (even if its the wrong Vader).

Again, the elbow can be pulled from the bicep or the forearm. It's a connector as well as a joint.

It's possible that old body has a different design and that the female portion is different inside -- but it shouldn't be too hard to make it work with some modification (snipping off the end or sanding it down to make it fit). People swap arms around here all the time. Open up the chest to replace the entire arm if that's what it takes.

I didn't know that there was a "saber arm". I guess that means that the saber is in a fixed position in the hand and can't be moved up or down at all, right?

All in all looks like a great fig. Not a bang on likeness but it's impossible to say there's no Hamill. Sculpted hair always hurts the likeness a bit (of course there's no getting around that) and so do the eye decals as opposed to properly painted eyes. But IMO it's mostly those two things that throw it off. The facial features and structure are pretty damn good. I'm happy with everything I'm seeing so far and can't wait for this!

He has to be the most negative person on this board. I don't even know why he bothers with this forum

I'm genuinely bamboozled by that! I see a very strong likeness to Hamill. Everything screams it to me.

It's certain pics with the hair I think, makes it look like he has an egg head that throws off the likeness or something. Your later set of shots with Luke's head tilted down, lightsaber in hand paint a better picture than the previous shots from various members when I made that post.

That photo with the glow of the lightsaber is amazing though. Luke looks great (and like Hamill) there. Just depends on the pics I guess. I think this Luke Skywalker looks way better than Han and Ben, more fun and bang for your buck too.

Yea, I checked a bunch of pics and that does seem like the case. Too bad it couldn't move up a touch so he could grip it with the other hand closer to the base. At least there's room for the other hand on top

I am looking forward to people figuring this out when more people get it in hand. It would be best though to see if there is a way to be able to figure out how to mod Bespin's arm above the elbow in a way it could fit ANH's right arms without needing parts from a ANH upper arm that comes with that body. Doing that would save from having to buy a duplicate figure (or body) and we could simply swap arms between Bespin and ANH luke (one with lightsaber and one without)

I can't wait to receive this but I've got to say - the pants don't look like the yellow / cream colour that they were in the movie. Looks like Hot Toys chose to use the "post-production" pants that were seen in the publicity photos which were made in the USA and aren't the movie pants. The original faded yellow denim pants that he wears in the movie were loaned to the production company by Bermans and Nathans Costumiers and when the movie finished filming, they were returned back to Bermans and Nathans. I may see if the Sideshow (or worst case - Hasbro) pants look more accurate. Rest of it looks fantastic.

Can you show some pics on yours? I am pulling on mine and it seems to be locked in really good. Don't want to break it. The Ben arm seems to be really tight where the elbow joint meets the forearm. I can't get it off. Also it can't pull the elbow joint off the Bespin Luke bicep either. I'm kinda stuck. Are yours already loose? Cause I can't seem to get it.

As far as the "saber arm" I was able to pop the saber off the hand that was attached with a bit of glue. There is a wire that feeds from the lower part of the hilt into the hand. If there was enough slack in that wire theoretically you could move the saber lower so his hand grips the hilt at the top but then you'd most likely see some wire hanging out from certain angles. Again this all is based on the assumption there would be enough wire to accomplish this.

Anyone have any "looking up" shots like this one?

Because of how the hair is sculpted, he can appear as though he's looking down even when he isn't, and I personally think that of all the prototype photos, this is the one that nails it pretty close to 100%.

The sideshow pants and even the medicom pants are very similar in color. The sideshow pants are a bit lighter faded grey where the medicom pants are a little darker. The flash in some of these shots fades the color out.

The SS tunic is a bit more yellow and the Medi tunic seems like the sleeves are too short. The promo photos for the Medi showed a more yellow dessert sand color on the pants.

But actual production was grey.

Here is the SS outfit on the Medi Luke.

Hope that helps. Not sure about the HASBRO versions.

Dream come true...?

Remember the days after the DX07 when nothing was coming from HT in the SW universe? The dark days when us fanboys started to dispair? A "flood of Star Wars figures" we said was expected after Luke ,not a parched, scorched desert of nothingness. The flood has come. So pick yourself up, wipe those tears from your eyes and bask in the warm embrace of the light Hot Toys has bestowed upon us!

Or something.....

Even with the training helmet and you can only see his cleft chin it looks more Hamill than the SS pilot.
