Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS298 - Star Wars: Episode IV - Leia Organa Collectible Figure

Bit of advice for anyone getting this, just played around with it for a while:

(A) Push the plastic belt up. As far as it will fit (near her bewbs) You reveal the waist seam of the dress underneath. Look closely and you will discover its actually elasticated. Pull the dress down, it will pull down quite a bit, the stretchy waist hem will fit further down the waist. Then pull the plastic belt back down to cover the seam again. Looks massively better IMO, it just hasn't been futzed properly in production.
(B) replace the waist grabber with a crotch grabber. Fits fine, looks better than the waist support.

Great tip Rory, have just been and tried it! :duff

:clap Beautiful

But I don't see Hamill in that sculpt still no matter how I look at it. I guess it truly has to be a in person encounter at the Luke to say that's Hamill :slap

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS298 - Star Wars: Episode IV - Leia Organa Collectible Figure

I see 100% Leia there and 0% Luke. Not only do I see Leia I see some attitude as well. Can't say the same for Luke....looks horrible to be honest!!

:exactly:

Leia is saying " Damn i wish these damn creases will go away on my dress " and Luke is " How much do I get again for being Mark's stunt double "

Nice shot para, but why

are there so many fold lines in her dress (waist down)? Did it come like that?

maybe if he tried the futz that Rory suggested, when you raise the belt more it adds more tightness in the waist so when you pull the dress down more it creases more because it's adding more slack :dunno

Leia certainly appeared with Obi-Wan during her recorded message at his house.

Well if that counts the she also appeared this time in person when Vader was swinging for the fences.

I thought he meant 'shared a shot'...

I can get you a pic of Ben with Leia hologram. Bet you can't get me a shot of Leia with Ben in the background during that scene.

Maybe the imperfections in the sculpt are somehow magnified in the 3D to 2D translation. All I can tell you is that my Luke looks like Luke.

I always tell myself that I'll never argue likeness with people because of the subjectiveness of it all, but I always wind up doing just that when people say things like 0% Hamill, or that the sculpt is terrible.:banghead Yes, the proto was a work of art, and the production sculpt fell short of that high mark, but to imply that if you saw this sculpt without the Luke garb under it, you'd have no idea who this was supposed to be is utterly unbelievable, as in I don't believe this could be a serious statement.

But maybe it's just me...:dunno

But then again, I held a similar view of the HT Obi-Wan (no Guiness to be found) while others argued passionately that he was the best likeness of the line. Now that I have him too..........

You are not alone, i feel the same way. :duff
It is all subjective so I just ignore it. If it looks like the actor to ME that is all that matters.

:hi5:

PARA! That looks PHENOMENAL! But I thought you got rid of Luke. He looks great here, and Leia looks great as always. Dress looks very accurate pulled down a bit.

Cheers!

I did try sell this Luke as I preferred the Red 5 but there was no interest. So I tried the Red 5 and he sold within a couple hours. I don't mind really as this one suits the rest of the line better.

Anakin would be so proud. :love :vader

Sorry guys I don't agree. I do see Hamill in the sculpt. Agreed it's not to the same level as Leia but it's there for me.

Thanks pjam, yeah it did.

I did.

Just......WOW!
HT dropped the ball by NOT making the exclusive backdrop the doorway to the Death Star chasm...bummer!
Awesome pics as always man!!

Thanks Glennfett :duff
