Yes this one is not too distant from HT one...

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS298 - Star Wars: Episode IV - Leia Organa Collectible Figure

It really seems to flare out around the waist.

Her dress is really so thin and slinky, I'd be amazed if someone was able to match the material in 1/6 scale. Same reason why I don't get too upset when Hot Toys can't match it. I think all this "1/6 scale" stuff is much harder to do than people realize.

:goodpost:

Leia's dress isn't perfect, but somehow it doesn't bother me.

It doesn't bother me enough to cough up another $100 bucks. I really do like Tony's custom, so far, but it's going to make her a $300 dollar figure! (bare-boned, at that!)

The shortness of the dress is my main gripe, as I don't have her hands raised to show off the thickness of the sleeves.

The custom dress and custom panel would run me the same as another Hot Toys figure...

If the dress had been like this, Leia figure would be into my "Detolf", close to Luke...

If this, or better, is what Tony is going to offer I'd get it for under $100. Leia, to me, is as iconic as any character in the SW universe and with a dress like that it'll be as close to perfect as any 1/6 figure representation I've ever seen. A new belt doesn't interest me at all but that dress...oh, yeah!

It's just a shame that POP Toys is doing things like House of Cards or Constantine. They'd absolutely clean up if they started doing Star Wars outfits. Their quality is superb. If you put a TORIBOX tag on it and sold it for $300 in the Interest section, you'd have everyone fooled.

Funny how simple this dress looks but both Hot Toys and Sideshow wasn't able to get it right.

I'll consider the Mei dress depending on price. Is he committed to selling it here or just on Facebook? Anyone know?

Seem unlikely he'd start an Interest Thread here, just follow him on Facebook to see the latest updates.

Has this figure been released everywhere now? I'm still waiting on mine from a supplier in Malaysia.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS298 - Star Wars: Episode IV - Leia Organa Collectible Figure

I wonder how he's going to handle the "hoodie?"

It's very floppy/drapey in the film. The HT one has pros and cons with the wiring.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS298 - Star Wars: Episode IV - Leia Organa Collectible Figure

The upper part of the dress in that left shot scares me a bit. Still think she needs some kind of fat suit. She looks emaciated in that dress and the HT one--something I'm sure nobody said about Fisher in '77.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS298 - Star Wars: Episode IV - Leia Organa Collectible Figure

Yeah I'm not sure the draping or futzing is quite the best in those pics, but at least it looks like there's a lot more potential for that kind of thing with this fabric. Which you can definitely not say about the fabric HT used.

Yeah, I'm torn between feeling like it has real potential and feeling like it's a pixie wrapped in a shower curtain.

I think it may just be the futzing as davejames says. It certainly has a drape/weight to it, unlike the HT one which is pretty rigid and doesn't flow much at all. Seems like people used a light lycra for the replacement Vader capes - I wonder if that's what he's used for this.

Anyone have a ballpark for cost on this?

That dress m.akes her look like she has a giraffe neck... maybe it's the body... :dunno
