Looking back at the first SDCC and proto pics, the thin fabric did seem to have a really nice and elegant look to it, so I can understand why they might have thought it was a good choice early on. But somehow in hand it just ended up looking a whole lot cheaper and uglier.

The original dress is an abomination. HT went thru a weird "synthetic" phase with Leia's dress, Han's shirt, Luke's tunic -- all had this "parachute" feel to them. Must have been bargain day at the parachute store that year.

For sure. It’s odd because they obviously put a lot of work into the sculpt and got it a solid 9/10 in my opinion, only to get lazy at the end and do such an underwhelming job on the dress.

It kind of reminds me of that scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Where the guy is taking his time to meticulously scribe an elaborate carving in the stone, only to cut off mid sentence with “Ahhhhhhhhhh.”

Perhaps he was dictating...

A little bit of pinning at the back and some water treatment. Starting to get the shape I’m looking for...

My Yunsil dress has arrived and it is even more beautiful than I thought it would be!! Finally Leia looks perfect my new crown jewel in my collection. Now PLEASE hot toys put Endor and bespin up for pre order!!!

Ps thanks for all your work on this project chili!!!

This is the one I let get away :( Still on the hunt but can’t justify paying those secondary market prices... and that Yunsil gown is just twisting the knife! Great upgraded Leia’s everyone they truly look amazing :)

Thanks-I’m very happy with it!

Awesome work! I like the way your dress clings...

Just one word of warning in the event you didn't see it a couple days ago -- you need to leave the white slip on. Apparently, the dress absorbs the coloration from the rubber torso. That's why HT gave us the odd slip to begin with. Unfortunately, you will loose some "clinginess".

Can someone please point me to instructions on how to safely replace the dress without removing the belt? The old thread was deleted, and I can't seem to find it on this thread.

*UPDATE* Nevermind, I found it.

Thanks I saw! She has the slip AND the pants on...didn’t want to risk anything ruining this lovely ness!

Oh good. I'm impressed how you got the dress to cling to her so well especially now with the slip on. I had some real trouble getting the material to lay flat across the chest and then fold up below the breasts. Did you use some kind of trick... or just great futzing. It's one of the things I want to do to mine when I redo her.

*♂️ Not really sure what I did just dumb luck I guess haha

I finally got the courage to replace the dress. Taking the stock dress off is rather difficult and requires you to snip thin plastic rings around her thighs. But putting the Yunsil dress on was comparatively quick and easy. It really is a well-made dress. I’m quite happy with it. Leia is my favorite character, and I think she looks ravishing. Sorry for the crappy photos. I couldn’t get the right light at this time of day, and I hate using flash.

Nice shots Hen. I would've also liked the Yunsil dress too, but was late to the party. However when I hear about the mess about getting it made and delivered I'm kind of glad I skipped all that.

Anyway, what i wanted to say. It is possible to get that black waist holder in under the belt so you can't see it from the front.

I don’t think so. I might just trade it out for the standard crotch-grabber stand. This dress is much more flowy than the stock dress and has more room to fit the stand.

No I said "It is" possible to put it under the belt.

But yes, crotch grabber (if you have one) is even better.

I’ve used one of the Star Wars crotch grabber stands, but without the metal part inserted. It sticks out too far forward on Leia (as she is so slim), and ruins the flow of her dress (you end up with a weird looking “bulge” out front!!). She seems to stand fine with just the plastic part of the upright holding her in place.
