Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS298 - Star Wars: Episode IV - Leia Organa Collectible Figure

It is really odd that they never showed what the exclusive backdrop was? I'm not sure I can recall another figure where they pushed an exclusive accessory without showing what it actually was.

I believe they did this with the exclusive guitar that came with the BTTF Marty McFly. You knew it was a guitar but they didn't show the details only an outline.

That still gives more information than the Leia exclusive because a "background" begs the question, a background of what?

I don't think I'll miss it if its very Leia specific but if it's something that could be used with any number of figures than I might regret not getting it.

The Backdrop included ...

You're not far off, Nailz...

Each box will include a small, unique piece of charred Alderaan.

Most likely cell block corridor with han and Luke stormtroopers already in the mix.

Arg, that would be one I might regret not getting.

Got on the WL yesterday and it converted just a few minutes ago. Almost slept on this one. I know it's basically a backdrop but personally I'll take an exclusive anytime over the regular version.

That was quick. I'm still waiting

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS298 - Star Wars: Episode IV - Leia Organa Collectible Figure

I used a bunch of Sideshow points when I ordered the regular, so I am not sure I can cancel it without losing those points in order to get on the waitlist for the exclusive

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS298 - Star Wars: Episode IV - Leia Organa Collectible Figure

Yeah, unfortunately youll lose the points

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS298 - Star Wars: Episode IV - Leia Organa Collectible Figure

And you wouldn't be able to use them on the exclusive anyway since its waitlisted. Might be out of luck, but I'm sure you could come up with a custom backdrop that accomplishes the same thing.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS298 - Star Wars: Episode IV - Leia Organa Collectible Figure

isn't the EX a cardboard backdrop or something? I have the EX on PO and don't even recall.:lol

This figure (and farmboy Luke to some degree) seems like the only HT SW sculpt - and I mean even including Vader and Chewy - that has been totally nailed likeness-wise to most people's satisfaction judging by the comments. Sort of surprising really.

Yea, I saved over $75 using my points, I am not going cancel to get on the wait list for the exclusive and lose that much in a discount.

Yea, I'm considering myself out of luck on this one. You know, I'm not even sure I want a backdrop at all. I don't use any for any of my other figures. I think it's just the fact that the backdrop is a mystery and don't know yet what I will be missing that makes me wish I had gotten it.

If it's cardboard I won't feel that bad about missing it. I got the exclusive versions of Luke, and Han & Chewie; actual accessories trump a piece of cardboard every time. Now if the background is molded plastic with lots of details, that might be another story.

I don't think it's 100% perfect, but I'm really nitpicking here and if people started really knocking it I'd be the first one to defend how good the likeness is. But, if you are looking for flaws the mouth seems a tad too small to me; mostly in the sense that the lower lip needs to be slightly fuller. Other than that it's perfect, especially the eyes and nose. There is no doubt that Carrie Fisher.

No chance. It'll be cardboard just like Mime or BR Joker. Exclusives are never an intricate or expensive to produce extra. I picked up the exclusive but there is no context, display wise, in which I'd set it up.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS298 - Star Wars: Episode IV - Leia Organa Collectible Figure

It's their best SW sculpt by a country mile, but it's pretty obvious the face is also too round, which was one of the first criticisms it received. At the very least, of their human sculpts, this is the only one I wouldn't bother to change. Now about that dress though... Fingers crossed they did something with it.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS298 - Star Wars: Episode IV - Leia Organa Collectible Figure

She was at her heaviest in this movie out of the three, her face was rounder

I didn't weigh her.

I would never use the word "heavy" to describe Carrie Fisher in any SW movie.

Weight doesn't change bone structure.

Look at photos, including the ones just posted.

It looks like Fisher, so overall it's a win.

I agree on all points here.

Perhaps, but that doesn't mean this sculpt still can't be a tad too round for how she actually looked in ANH.

I didnt disagree with you. I like the sculpt . And she was heavier, watch the special features she talks about it. Lucas pressured her to lose weight. Weight does effect your cheeks and makes them rounder.
