Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS298 - Star Wars: Episode IV - Leia Organa Collectible Figure

This will be released in Hong Kong next week?

Unknown. But if it's not then this will not be in the US during March.

I wonder what the delay is. She's probably the last ANH figure. Maybe they're holding off on releasing her because there'll be a Star Wars dry spell from March through June. I hope they announce more new figures during that time. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's sick of the endless stream of Iron Man figures coming out.

Chinese New Year affects shipping dates every year. I always suspect it as a factor for any delays during a February.

Kidadult Toy Shop posted a picture of her just a while ago. Dunno if that means anything.

I'll be really surprised if we don't get the initial "it sucks, they messed it up, what happened, the proto was better".. followed a little later by.. "it's great, i luv it, it's the best Leia available", reaction.

and then the mods.:monkey3

Seriously though, i'm having a hard time remembering when that didn't happen. Granted, I don't frequent the Marvel section. hmmm

What was the last figure everyone agreed was great, matched the proto, and maybe even surpassed it?

Kylo's thread is pretty positive. Jakku Stormie too. In fact I think most of the TFA threads have a lot of praise in them. There's been many over the years that have recieved more praise than critiques but what you described is a fairly common pattern anymore. I've been in that crowd before. :D At least it's better than the opposite.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS298 - Star Wars: Episode IV - Leia Organa Collectible Figure

When a figure has problems... well, it just has problems. A lot of people have "opinions" on things based on a sometimes skewed perception of accuracy. It's pretty tough to produce a 100% accurate anything. Some companies and customizers do a better job than others.

That said, I own around 50 1/6 figures and I love pretty much every single one of them, despite any flaws. The only figures I ever get a little intense about are Medicom, mostly the older stuff that has broken on me.

I will say, Sideshow's quality control on the 1/6 Jango could have been a looooot better though.

For me personally, opening up these Hot Toys figures and seeing the damn near mini versions of these characters in such detail is amazing and outweighs some of the nitpicks.
