If you buy more that one they will charge you an NRD of 19.50 per.....and BBTS is limiting them one per person.....

I know I should just rejoice at the price, but I can't help but thinking it really drives home the point that Hot Toys could totally be offering newly-tooled, non-diecast Iron Man figures for sub-$200 and still make a profit. But they KNOW people will pay more for those and that the interest was lower on these. Heck, maybe the muted response was part of the reason for the delay to retail as they scrambled to adjust pricing to a more consumer-friendly level.

You also have to remember the little things. These have less articulation, are a little less refined, (meaning they look like robots and not a human in a suit) and since there is no human head sculpt, then there is no licensing fee that has to be paid to the actor. If the actual Iron Man figures were dialed down to this level, they just wouldn't be as good. To quote Ivan Vanko, "Drone better."

wow......$195....didn't see this going for under $230. That being said I'm still waiting for a discount. If I miss out....oh well.

So why is the Ultron Mark 1 250? No human sculpt, less (although detailed) figure to make since its missing parts, doesn't need to look like a human is inside, has less articulation...etc. And its not like this Drone is a repaint.

I hear what you're saying, but then you look at a figure like the Silver Centurion armor (which I adore) and you can say pretty much the same things. Except the part about these being skinnier. Which doesn't make that much difference from a cost of manufacturing standpoint.

The reality is, some of the cost of these has nothing to do with cost of manufacturing, overhead, licensing, etc. It's partially what the market can bear. This is the truth with all manufactured goods. Businesses want to get as much margin as possible out of anything. So... I try to not let it bother me. But the price creep has felt like a price jump in recent years. It feels like it's time or HT to absorb SOME of it, at least.

Again, I don't want to be one of those guys who gets a good thing and pees on it (that's probably not a saying... I just can't think of a good one right now) but it does kind of stick in the craw. A bit.

It really is interesting. Back when they were still making the DX line you got SO MUCH above what was included in a standard release that the price of 260-300 made some sense. Now we're getting DOFP Wolvie for 250 with only 4 hands, it just doesn't make sense.

I agree with you all. In the case of Ultron Mk I, it's Ultron. The main villain. They're banking on people wanting to buy the bad guy along with the good.
The drones had a very small, unimportant role in the movie. Their sole purpose was to give Ultron a starting point. That's just my thoughts on it.
I too wish the prices would come down, but it's not going to happen. We all complain, and ****** and whine about the prices as we're handing them our money. lol
We do it because we collect. Flex Pay takes some of the sting out of it. If I couldn't Flex Pay, I'd never be able to buy the amount of figures I have. I'm not crazy about the prices either. I see what they used to sell for and lament the fact I didn't start collecting sooner. But I couldn't afford these back then. Flex Pay allowed me into this hobby. I just wonder if I can keep up.
