Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Terminator Genisys: Endoskeleton Collectible Figure

Yeah what's that about? Were they like that in the movie? Strange choice.

Fair play to Hot Toys for actually following through on this one I suppose. I'll pass though. Original design or nothing.
Bit of a mixed bag on the shoulder color. It appears on some 1/1 replica and doesn't on others. Then you have the 1/1 replicas that aren't even chromed up. Whatever reference they were using must have had it black.

I was surprised to see this just now. Was this announced?

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Terminator Genisys: Endoskeleton Collectible Figure

We had seen a prototype at at least one show. HT could've gone either way with this. No interest in anything related to Gennisssyss but it's a break from the MCU.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Terminator Genisys: Endoskeleton Collectible Figure

I don't think it really matters if you're a fan of Genisys or not as an Endoskeleton is an Endoskeleton and this figure really works for multiple films.

I guess if I show that figure to most people like my friends and family, they wouldn't be able to tell which movie the figure is from because to them it all looks the same, but I think most of us here can spot the differences between the classic T-800 and the TG T-800 series just like Kyle could easily spot the T-600 with the rubber skin.

Yeah, it's a shame it's not the old T-800 from 1 or 2, I'm sure people would be more all over those than this new one.

It'd be an Instabuy by at least 90 percent of the folks here. Unfortunately, other than a new Terminator movie (I use that very loosely) last year, there really wasn't an impetus for HT to revisit it.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Terminator Genisys: Endoskeleton Collectible Figure

Yeah, like other people have mentioned, if I showed it to my friends and family they would know what it is.

And actually that's the way I see it too, I would like a T-800 from T-2 but this is a good representation for myself.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Terminator Genisys: Endoskeleton Collectible Figure

I'm a huge T1 and T2 fan. My fave series. I honestly would not be able to tell you the difference lol. Never looked at them that closely. Either way. This is copped. Any coupons out there?

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Terminator Genisys: Endoskeleton Collectible Figure

Hahah I knew it! Some weeks ago I bought on eBay the Big Chap and then it appeared on the HT new catalogue.. Then I bought an MMS33 and they announce this! I'm feeling like the luckiest man in the world.. Anyone wants a new figure to be announced? I can try to find the old version on eBay..

I have to be honest,I'm the same.Im getting older now and my eyesight is going a bit,but from when I was 19 and saw the original in the cinema to now, after numerous viewings,I still do nt know what all the differences are,and it's my understanding that the original endoskeleton doesn't exist anymore, that it was cannibalised for T2.And given that there were no art books back in 1985,obviously no internet, what sources of reference are there for the original?Id genuinely love to have a look.

I'm the same, and I don't think it is my eyesight diminishing yet (although my hearing definitely is)... I just honestly have never got so fan wrapped in all these subtle little differences, and I've watched all these 80s movies so many times.. I really don't know one Vader from another, or one endo from another.. and I'm not joking when I say I've watched most of these movies a lot.

I could quite happily live with this figure and not lose sleep if I don't see the T1 version again. Best case scenario I treat it as my 'one and only' endo in a Terminator display. Worst case scenario I match it with the Guardian in a Genisys display. Sure I'm a little gutted that I don't have Tech Noir or Dutch or a clean T2 Arnie (DX10 or the MMS... either will do), but that's what I get for being a new collector to Hot Toys..

there are, for example, big photos of an arm that has the biggest difference for anybody who doesn't even care but sees them two together.
all the rest differences are seen only by people who are interested to put skeletons side by side. like different skulls, different positions of abdomen plate and length of spine, slightly different proportions, differently attached hoses in the neck and so on.

the terminator arm:

arm1a1.jpg

terminator 2 arm:

terminator_2_judgment_day_endoarm_prop_replica_8.jpg

(so actually the arm in T2 doesn't belong to T1, because T2 is blasphemy :lol)
actually as i read, the arm difference was made to give the arm more natural movements and shape, adding joints and shrinking the hydraulics.

and actually there are a lot of boards where people build 3D models of original skeletons and have already found lots of references and have ready-to-use models for anybody (for example, toy industries who would be interested in keen sculptors/modellers and buy their models to build toys. everybody would win.
but no, we will hire people who are not interested in references and let them do the job.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Terminator Genisys: Endoskeleton Collectible Figure

I'm glad they didn't abandon the line completely... Definitely going to pick this up

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Terminator Genisys: Endoskeleton Collectible Figure

Was really hoping this would've been diecast. Oh well, at least we're getting an endo.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Terminator Genisys: Endoskeleton Collectible Figure

Big, big surprise here.

Doesn't look half bad, though of course I would prefer a T1/2 Endo.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Terminator Genisys: Endoskeleton Collectible Figure

the price is quite good for a 33cm tall figure with silver chromed surface!
but need to have a butcher's at the prototype before i pull the trigger.

looks really nice, may be if original skeleton never existed with all its background, this would be a supreme figure.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Terminator Genisys: Endoskeleton Collectible Figure

kewl... wasn't expecting this at all. I thought they scrapped it, anyways I might pick it up wasn't planning on it but as was previously mentioned a 1/6th endo is a 1/6th endo in the end of the day regardless of which terminator movie its from and I've a feeling the way ht is going this may be the last time we see an endo produced(well for a very long time at least!)
