I got a good deal on whiplash last year, it wasn’t high on my list but I thought this trio would be an awesome display. Then I saw it in person in Universal studios posed fighting WM and I loved it. Don’t regret it one bit, very underrated figure. Only downsides to me are the previously mentioned helmet and the fact the whips don’t light up very well.
However I have some EL wire I’ll be using, and just a couple of days ago I bagged a Whiplash Mk1 headsculpt which fits on the mk2. So it’s gonna be great!

His hair was in a pony tail though when he was wearing the Mk2.

I can't wait to see a War Machine MK1 and Iron Man MK6 versus Whiplash MK2 display...maybe that will sway me to get the Whiplash

That's it?

I took a break from buying HT so I missed all the Diecast hype. Is that how much metal is usually on the figures? How much of War Machine and the Mark IV are diecast, do you know?

The legs are usually all diecast and there are small diecast pieces (like a bicep, shoulder cover, etc) on the arms and body. If you read the specs on DC figures it always says "contains diecast material" not just diecast. They are still more plastic than DC but they are still awesome figures.

I destroyed a DC MKI War Machine to get a replacement and most of the weight and DC was in the legs with a few other small parts spread around over the arms/body. The body did have a small aluminum frame inside to make it a little more solid.

Thanks for the info, man. I was thinking about selling most of my HT figures and replacing some for the DC version but I'm not sure it's worth it now. I mean, they do look better, with even better proportions and head sculpt but maybe it isn't worth the investment. What I really wanted was more 1/4 scale armors but it doesn't look like we are getting anymore any time soon.

We will probably get one from IW.

I wish they had the breakdown pictures like they did for the War Machine MK2/Iron Patriot and Robocop.

Has anyone confirmed what parts a diecast? Just curious.

What makes the DC versions worth buying (or replacing older ones), isn't the material.
So far, all of the DC remakes (with the possible exception of the Mk3) are better scaled/sized, better proportioned, better engineered for articulation, and better sculpted (including the headsculpts/faces). The only advantage (in my opinion) to some of the older ones are the accessories. For example, I wish this DC Mk6 had the battle damaged arms and legs that the original one had.
