Damn, this thing came out great. Odds are looking great for MK 7 DC being a knock out as well judging from the comparison pics of the old 6 to the new DC 6. Huge difference in quality and craftsmanship.

I wish we knew hot toys plans for the mark seven. I'm just on the edge of buying this one and the only thing stopping me is the triangle reactor plate. lol

That's probably one of the reasons I"m getting it. lol To Each his own I guess. haha You are better off getting the IV than VI.

Yeah I'm happy about the triangular arc reactor...I don't know why it gets so much hate.

I was on the fence as well between this and the eventual DC 7 but I did realize I much much prefer the 6's design.
But I do believe HT will go all out for the DC 7 so i may be tempted. I am a huge Battle Damaged parts guy so I hope we get a post NY battle damaged 7.

There's been soo many variations of the 7.. do you think collectors are gonna go for it though?

They bought variations of that same original mould, why wouldn't they buy a brand new diecast version. Plus there are ppl who never had that original figure and would like to purchase the 7. Trust me...HT is making this.

Oh I wouldn't doubt that at all.. it's just I never got why people would get the variations. For me, one variation is enough.

If you have a solid design, you can dress it up in various ways and there will be people who’ll bite. That goes across anything that can be collected. Some may actually prefer the variation to the original, some may desire any rarity the variation has, while others are simply completists.

While on a much higher pricing scale, why wouldn't you buy variations of a favorite design? I like (and collect) classic diecast muscle cars, pony cars, etc. I really like Dodge Chargers and Challengers. I have lots of each in different paint schemes because I like the base vehicle. The Mk VII was a great design for a figure. First with multiple exchangeable parts, first with 90 degree repulsor hands, first without the delicate snap in rear flaps, etc. I like the color options. I wouldn't mind seeing a stealth version of the Mk VI. The design lends itself to a black paint scheme. Another example is Nightclub. I hope they do the movie version, (red & gold) and the traditional version. (black & silver/grey)
Just my opinion.

One simple reason is $$$

The all white and all black versions of the MK7 were amazing looking. I almost got one but then I knew I would have to get the other. Haha. While they might not be for everyone, there definitely is a market for them.

^ this. I have friends who have variations of real cars. one has a stock 67 Oldsmobile, hot rodded 67 Oldsmobile, convertible 67 Oldsmobile, station wagon 67 Oldsmobile, etc. I have all 5 MKVII Variants and i'm looking forward to the 2.0 MK7 to join the club because of the reasons mentioned above. They are all the same but the paint really makes them look very unique from each other.

Well with the way the 6 came out and with how loved and important the 7 is I think Hot Toys can really make a definitive MK7 diecast. I hope it has tons of extras and an awesome base.

...but I'm still drooling over this MK6. Cannot wait to see more and eventually get mine.

All these years later I'd wager that the original 7 are still held in higher regard than the post Iron Man 3 suits. People don't talk about the 42, 43, 45, 46 and 47 like they do the old ones. III, IV, VI and VII all have reasons that people argue for them to be their favourite, or even the "definitive" suit. Meanwhile, I, II and V are all distinctly unique.

The announcement of II, V and then IV all sealed that VII is coming. There's no way it's not. It's had many colour schemed variants. There's no way they won't complete the die-cast set. You could be less optimistic if it was just the VI added to lineup with the III. Afterall, with War Machine 1 getting a release, it would be easy to dismiss the VI as just a pairing up. (although the diecast is going more for Avengers than IM2)

I think all of the main suits are talked about and in high regard for various reasons.

To me the main suits are the Mark 3, 6, 7, 42, 43 and the 46. Suits that took up a lot of screen timeor had the most impact in their respective films. I think all of those "main" suits are sought after, in high regard and this trend will continue with the 48 in Infinity War.
