Don’t get the ESB. The helmet is awful by comparison. I am sure ROTJ will get easier to get after awhile. If not, DX28 (kenobi Vader) is really good.

For anyone who has both, what exactly is different with the Kenobi figure? Is it mainly the helmet? Or is the rest of the outfit different as well?

I can't speak to the mask, but regarding the outfit the OWK Vader has an ANH outfit while ROTJ has an ROTJ outfit.

The difference between ROTJ and OWK (clean parts) are:
-Different chest box (I prefer ROTJ because it looks good even when not lit up)
-Different cape (both are meant to have the collar be shown but the chain is on the bottom of the collar for OWK and midway up the collar for ROTJ. So the collar stands up more on OWK. OWK also has a pleat on both shoulders makes it hard to have it looking good in most poses)
-Different mask and dome (ROTJ is probably more accurate to the shape. Though the mouth grill looks a little big on ROTJ. Both look good.)
-Different cod piece (the OWK looks like a big diaper. ROTJ looks a lot better)

I don’t know if the body is different. OWK is probably bigger and using the RO body but I haven’t put them side by side.

Overall, due to the OWK Vader having a dull chest box when not lit up, and a big diaper, and perhaps a slightly less accurate helmet, I would chose ROTJ if I were to only have one Vader in my collection. Which is annoying since it seems that hot toys produced alot more of the OWK Vaders.

I just put them side by side and that certainly looks to be the case. Which is great as the OWK/RO body has much better proportions than the ESB body. The ESB body looked stubby with short legs and stocky shoulders. The initial fears of this figure were that while the OWK was a retool of RO Vader, this would basically be the ESB rereleased with new accessories. It is great that the fixed all the major issues of the ESB body and helmet. It is a shame that they didn't include these features in the initial promo pictures. I think it would have been a more popular choice for people if so.

Do you own both and checked the bodies? Or are there any comparision images or videos showing that?

I am actually an OT guy. One of the big reasons I still went for the OWK Vader is because of the body proportion and the more accurate helmet compared to my ESB Vader.
Anakin is not my Vader. I only inteded to use the clean helmet to represent my OT Vader.
But if it's really the case that they are even using the same body, then I might need to sell my OWK Vader and try to hunt this one down.

ROTJ has the same body as ESB and ANH. I don’t know why people are saying otherwise.

It’s really not. ESB body is about a quarter of an inch shorter. Maybe it has extenders on the ankles.

Hmmm. That could be due to the ankle pegs and/or how the helmet attaches to the neck. I haven’t seen anything in the ROTJ figure pics that points to the OWK/Rogue One body. You can really tell in the leg area. The seller of the above auction (that was just put up), has the ROTJ Vader parted out.

I own both figures. Same height and proportions save the slightly too long neck on OWK Vader and I assume tiny differences from bodysuit and chest armor.
In hand they both look great, slightly prefer the RoTJ due to its codpiece and chest panel appearing better scaled. The longer neck on OWK Vader does not bother me, but it is slightly too long accuracy wise.

Maybe it's the tailoring on the ESB that makes him look shorter than RotJ and ANH.

OB1 Vader is a different (taller) body though.

I sold it off already but I am 90% sure ESB vader was noticeably shorter then OWK & RoTJ.

There's no way to make the ESB Vader more "acceptable" ? I see someone adjusting the dome and some other things. The helmet is THE big thing to replace ?

There definitely is. Use one of the extra helmets with OBW or RotJ and replace the body. This is what I did.
