Counting down to Luke Jedi V.2 (with Mando sculpt) and Palps V.2 in 10, 9, 8, 7....
Not gonna lie - I would JUMP to buy a Palpatine figure, what a brilliant villain.
Which is why I don't own the current versions of the OT and own the 4K77 project versions, as I hated Shaw being replaced by Hayden.
Jeez - how old are my DVD copies of the movie, I didn't even know Hayden replaced Shaw.....

Force Ghost Hayden Christensen replaced Sebastian Shaw for the 2004 DVD release. There were a lot of changes in that edition but notably Ian McDiarmid also replaced Marjorie Eaton/Clive Revill as ESB hologram Palpatine and Temuera Morrison replaced Jason Wingreen as the voice of Boba Fett.

You can tell Lucas wanted Prequel Trilogy synergy.

If you haven't seen Hayden on DVD then maybe the original version included in the 2006 release since the first DVD had already swapped him.

Most notably I think I prefer the partially damaged helmet with the glimpse of Christensen's eye as opposed to the full Shaw likeness - the look is more sinister than Shaw who looks a bit old and sad to me, plus it allows you to simultaneously show off the helmeted look AND the scarred human likeness underneath without removing Vader's intimidation factor.
I mean, in fairness, I think that was kind of the point.

My current setup is the HT ANH Vader with the deluxe Sideshow “Shaw” head turned around. I personally think it’s the most effective way to display this figure. Holds the mystery from ESB. I would never display Vader upright with the Shaw head on and lightsaber in hand. Vader never looked like that in movies. Long story short……I’m good with what I have.

If anyone wants to see the 83 version you should check this out:

... or, you know, something like this, it comes in various sizes:

You could have an LED spot or something and he'd look super cool, and have room to pose. I'd be torn between keeping the dust off and letting him do his thing.

What they SHOULD do is give us a wall-mount Vader in a bacta tank. Light it up all spooky.

I think I'll get the deluxe and put Vader on the Jedi Luke DS base with the cylinders and put Luke on the steps while he's shorter. I wish we knew the height of the steps, looks like it might be as tall as Vaders shin guards.

I like the new Vader, but not convinced to get him yet. I already have the ANH with RO gloves and heavily modded and accurized by Jazzinc, the ESB and 1/4 ROTJ Vader, plus many other Vader statues. Display space is also an issue. We'll see.

Get the DX and display it with severed hand and light up head!
