The Iron Man license is ruining Hot Toys, because they're all but ignoring all the others.

When this bubble bursts (and it will) and more people tire of Iron Man Overkill they may be in a world of hurt. They're missing obvious windows with several other valuable licenses.

This bubble bursting may have residual effects, though. Hot Toys appears to be doubling-down on Iron Man.

That's the problem. If they were releasing this avalanche of Iron Man product while also being productive with their other lines, that would be one thing. But they appear to be 90% dedicated to just this one license. And that's a foolhardy risk that will blow up in their face when more people get burned out.

Apparently Howard knows nothing about hedging.

Another way of looking at it:

Pepper Potts was the obvious choice for including an exclusive item like this.
Probably, they don't plan on making her then..

:lol

This is freakin' awesome. I would have jumped on this if it came with the helmet, now that I know I won't be getting the helmet, not for a heavy price at least, I can completely skip this :)

I wouldn't be surprised for a second if it went the opposite less obvious way. The Bat cowl should've came with DX12 not Selene. It's a way to thread the sales together. Maybe this means we will see a Pepper. Maybe this means we WILL see a Wayne :dunno

Seems to me that this says the exclusive item will only be available to those who PO at these 'events' so no chance of Sideshow getting this

Well there it is. Now that makes sense. I only first saw this EX add today was confused why there was no EX available on SS since the reg was listed for a bit already. If there was going to be an EX thru SS I'm sure they would've listed it from day one

HT is doing this because they know it will sell, i dont see it as milking, i see it as "Cashing OUT" since this will be the last solo iron man film for a while it makes sense to pump out lots of iron man figs now, then move to other licences. people might not like it but look at the BD mark VII, 50 bucks more than the original with less stuff and it sold out in 3 freaking hours. if someone doesnt like what HT is doing with iron man then move on, but there will be 2 or more people to take that persons place. Dont like it? dont buy it , but dont say HT is running themselves into the ground when they can put out a repaint and it sells better than the original

Yep, I have been banging on about exactly the same thing for a while, very dangerous business move, especially for such a relatively new market.

really loving the look of this suit. And to all the too many iron mans being made. just think of it as a break to save money when they come out with a ton of stuff you do want!

I do like this suit the more I see of it. But there's just so much coming out right now and in the next year or so... I'll have to make some hard choices. If it's still order-able down the line... I might go for it.

It's a good problem to have, IMO. :lecture

No worries man, Howard and HT will more than make up for it with you in particular when they serve up healthy heaps of SW episodes 7-9 figs. :wink1:

Those latest pics is making this thing hard to resist! Especially since it resembles a regular MMS. :lecture
