A quick side by side comparison, It's a bit difficult to capture the actual color and appearance . I was happy with R1, but now I think R3 is way better
My room is a bit bright, so dont trust the photo
hope this helpsView attachment 662131

Very nice comparison. Thank you.

Does the new R3 still have clear plastic neck, shoulder, and hip socket joints?

Ha, perhaps that’s what the delay/recall was. HT was like “Oh no, Chromocop again?! Quick, airbrush some blue and purple overspray stat!”

Still needs to be Smokey metallic grey, not shimmering aluminum silver.

SO does this look like it could be accurate color or some photo trickery?

Here's the last one I repainted. Wow, eight years ago...

Just of of curiosity--did you ever do one with the matte/satin black parts? I'm kinda wondering if it's something I could do myself--since spraying something uniform black wouldn't seem like it requires any special technique. That said, I'd be worried about how to cover up the rest of the suit so as not to accidentally paint over it.

Thanks for that comparison. I'll be happy enough. Would have preferred a battle-damaged helmet to go with the chest, but the biggest improvement (over paint) would have been matte finish on the hand/forearm. I never bought the first one, so I was always going to purchase this regardless.

honestly thats what I thought, perhaps SS video used the wrong one.

what is clear plastic neck? any photos?

The head, arms and legs of the previous release were held by inner ball joints that were mae by clear plastic, which overtime can become brittle and break. There were cases of breakage so people are hoping this one would use black plastic, similar to the original MMS10 release.

The rubber sleeves used on the elbows and knees are also prone to tears. I don't think that's improved though.

From Sideshow my friend?
No direct from HK, ordering form the US costs too much in import fees and I have to wait longer

Well some photos right out of the box natural lighting. Certainly has a blue and purple look to it.
*edit took some more with my room lights on. Also included some of the joints to answer any questions regarding those. I didn't have the first one so can't compare. Hope this helps

This makes me nervous though. My HT Superman figs have clear joints at their ankles and one by one they’ve all cracked apart over time. If I can find a way to open up the torso and reinforce them, I will.
