I'm guessing it was to prevent possible staining from the dark gray shirt. I went ahead and removed the plastic from mine though, since any staining wouldn't be visible anyway.
I would have just left it but it was sort of visible and annoying me. You’re probably right about staining though.

Chirrut had it too and there were some pics of staining but it was on the back of the neck I think—around where the collar is. They starting to use different dyes?

I removed as much as I could from Jyn's neck and pushed the rest down till it couldn't be seen; I doubt I'll ever strip down the figure to remove the rest.

I don't know about you guys, but i couldn't be happier with this figure. Sculpt and all.

Same here. I see plenty of FJ as JE in the sculpt myself.

I did the opposite.

I noticed the white plastic wrapping and began to attempt to pull it out using tweezers. It wasn't coming out, so it dawned on me that perhaps it's supposed to be there to prevent staining, even though I've never seen HT do this before. The wrapping wasn't visible anyway on mine, so I just left it.

I just took off the normal plastic/paper around the neck and that was it. Didn't even notice there was anything more there. I'll need to go have a look down her top now.

I think the white paper/plastic wrapping around the lower neck is what people are referring to. At least that's what I was referring to.

Does anyone else find it really odd that they used photos of the prototype in the instruction manual as well as the box sleeve art? I'm looking at it vs the final product and thinking "We could've had it aaaaaaall~" *rolls in the deep, etc*

(No but really. They did the same for Rey. It seems like a really strange choice to put a pic of an obsolete version on the final product)

I thought about that at first too but it was sticking out enough on mine where I could see it and once I started taking it off I just kept going. The worst that will happen is the body gets stained but it’s covered anyways.

Yeah, they do that with all of them. Han changed pretty drastically too. Sideshow does it too. On their Han Hoth figure they have a beautifully painted Head Sculpt with a real fur hood, then you open it up and it’s a bit different. Probably has more to do with preparing the packaging beforehand.

Yeah makes sense. I bet the packaging and instructions are some of the first things done and are probably just based off of the prototypes.

You realise they make the instructions BEFORE the final product is made?

First thing I had to do upon opening my Jyn is glue the magnet on her head. Took the hair off and it brought it with it. Really wish HT would actually use their glue.. lol

Just received my regular Jyn from BBTS earlier today. I can't seem to get Jyn to hold the handle of her baton. The handle itself is too thin and the gripping fist isn't sufficient to hold it. Any tips?

Yeah the right hand grip is pretty useless, but I found the left hand grip will hold it pretty well. For some reason the fingers on that one are a bit tighter.

Did a bit of work on mine. I lightened the hair and gave her some highlights, made the lips a bit pinker, lightened the eyes slightly, and reddened the nose a bit (since I noticed when rewatching the movie that it was always a bit red). I also loosened up the scarf so I could wrap it more naturally (although beware, it becomes a huge pain to work with when you do).

And when I removed the outfit I found the padded undersuit was riding a little low for some reason, so I lifted it up a bit, which seemed to greatly improve the proportions. And then finally I inserted some padding under the rubber chest to make the bust a bit bigger, since she seemed a bit bigger there in the movie.

I'm still hoping a better custom sculpt will come along for this, but in the meantime the current one is at least working a bit better for me now.

Wow. Still waiting on mine, jealous. Too nervous to do half the great work you’ve done. Awesome photos too!
