I completely understand that. I keep up with (or at least try) most of the DC news so I'm not saying it out of ignorance. BUT it doesn't change the fact that it's not like he's talking negatively about the movie now nor his time while filming. He still speaks positively about it and more recently has been saying how he finally cracked the code on playing Batman/Bruce Wayne. So, if he had great time on the film, what does it even matter what direction the DCU is going in now or his relationship with Gunn is? Unless he's actually lying of course.

The fact that Affleck also didn't allow his likeness on the previous BvS armored HT figure based on that reddit link (though apparently he did for the EX BD version as that's clearly Affleck and not the stuntman) shows that it really doesn't have anything to do with his relationship to the studio. You even said it yourself that even the Sideshow Armored PF isn't Affleck. Yet the Prime1 1/2 scale Armored Batman is pretty clearly Affleck as well as the 1/6 DCC Armored Batman statue. Sounds more like he picks and chooses what he wants his face on rather than some grudge against the studio to me.

He obviously has his reasons regardless. At the end of the day, we can speculate all we want that it's b/c of WB, Gunn, or himself, but none of us really know until someone leaks the exact reasons why. All we do know or at least can infer based on the information we currently have is that he didn't allow it on this figure.

It's much easier to get away with an armored Batman not being Ben. Stands out like a sore thumb on the normal ones.

Exactly. It's more about politics with WB than anything else at this point. He even said a couple of months ago that he wouldn't work with Gunn on anything, despite Gunn saying they were working together. Made Gunn look pretty bad exposing his lies

Reddit interview fact or fiction ? But it's clearly the stunt double. I wish I knew someone at Secret Base who could check if an old Affleck faceplate fits....but it probably won't.

Even as a worst-case scenario and they don't it's very cheap and easy to get a Wayne head sculpt and cut the section you need out.

It's also not the size of the mouth you have to keep in mind but also the cut out hole section on the cowl as well. A previous version might fit but you might have gaps all over the surrounding sides of it if it's not 1/1 to the previous cowls.

Knowing Hot Toys, I wouldn't bet on it working. This suit is ugly as sins though. I don't blame Affleck for not giving his likeness for any merchandise. The man has abandoned the Snyder DC ship for a while now.

Ben Affleck did appear with Zack Snyder and Chris Terrio on the ZSJL discussion panel for the “Full Circle” Snyder-con 2 event. Just sayin’. Not reading too much into that but I think that whole event was Zack signaling that he’s actually still very much interested in completing the saga if WBD will let him. Ben participating in the panel we can only speculate about. But regardless, it seems clear that WBD isn’t going to let it happen, and they’re moving in another direction And they evidently feel Snyder’s JL 2 and 3 would distract from that. I’m still hopeful for an animated Snyder JL 2 and 3 somewhere down the line though.

I hope you can too. It is quite possible that there will still be Tacticals available by then. I mean look at some of the other rereleases they seem to hang around for a good amount of time. I pre-ordered the Tactical re-release just because I’m a bit risk averse and like to just get things over with, but who knows you may be able to get one later on at a discount

I'm sure there will be more available after the release so gonna keep an eye.

Someone on Reddit posed an interview with Richard, a Batfleck stunt double who claims he signed likeness rights on figures because Affleck wouldn't allow his. I don't know if he was in there for the Flash but, it does bring credence to the thought this happened here.

If that's true then HT should just use the old Affleck face plates for the figure. If anyone complains they can just say "Well, he IS Affleck's stunt double - you guys did such a good job picking him we didn't notice any difference". It's not like the stunt guy will complain - he'll get more $ from it looking like Affleck rather than himself.

Have you seen that done before ? You'd need a pretty good Dremel cutter or something, and need to be pretty accurate and not chip the paint in the process. Something to keep in mind though.

He was up for being Batman/Bruce Wayne enough to be in the Flash and film a cameo for Aquaman last summer. A lot has changed in WB and DC since then.

I doubt the regime change at WB has anything to do with him not signing off on this. He did the Flash because it was supposed to be his official exit from the role. The Aquaman cameo came about because there was a period where Aquaman 2 was supposed to be released before Flash, and test audiences found it confusing that

Michael Keaton was in the movie

. It was never going to be a full time return to the role for him, and he said as much in January of last year, way before Gunn got hired.

Toys also begin production well in advance, so any sort of likeness negotiations would likely have been handled months ago as well.

Good grief that is hideous. Even a perfect Affleck likeness wouldn't save the figure from that suit.

Everything since his BvS suits has got gradually worse. Needlessly over designed.

Can't believe HT make this but no Zoe Kravitz or Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman.

Yeah that is an overwrought mess.
Anyone want to photochop away all the hideous excessive honeycombing apparatus and straps, might look half decent.

Colors look great. Shame about everything else.

Closed mouth looks halfway decent, and if those ugly armor plates were removable the figure might approach acceptable.

eXtreme to the max 90s Nightfall Bat and Liefeld agree. More pronounced shoulder pads and his entire arsenal strapped to his back, would have cinched it.

I guess the gen who once grew up with these hideous designs, are now the adults working in the industry.

This suit probably would have been a decent opportunity to introduce some classic trunks to the suit. I'm sure with the way he's leaning over that bike, his bat-groin could use a little extra padding and protection.

The colour-scheme doesn't look so dreadful under brighter lights- but I still don't like it. Day time Batman is lame.

Those hips are just ludicrously wide and the oversized chest plate and cape position make his shoulders look too narrow.
The design is simply a fail in every way unless WB are mandating their figures now more closely resemble the average 50 year old male to promote body positivity.

I think HT repurposed the body from their soon-to-be-released "The Duchess" figure from Mando Season 3.
