Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - VGM18 - Batman: Arkham City: Batman Collectible Figure (Specs + Pi

Hopefully the production piece will look better x_x... When MoS was released for preorder I personally thought he was kinda chunky looking... but now I'm very pleased with the final product. Who knows, it could happen to this guy too??

It SHOULD happen to this guy. I'm overly optimistic, but hell, if he comes out this way, I'll just work with what I've got. I skipped MoS PO when protos come out. Then photo reviews come out, tore out my eyeballs and called up a friend to get me one.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - VGM18 - Batman: Arkham City: Batman Collectible Figure (Specs + Pi

Mos' only problem was that th TT arm that they use and maybe the body was too big/bulky. All they gotta do is do some mix and match with their other TT to get the final current look.

This one will mean a whole different research and time consumption on a new fabric, suit design, and possibly some new mold for body.

I doubt they will do much change. So don't PO this thinking HT will fix or do major changes. If you like the current look, go for it.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - VGM18 - Batman: Arkham City: Batman Collectible Figure (Specs + Pi

I honestly don't understand why the suit couldn't be done like MOS. Right now Sideshow's Batman looks heaps better.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - VGM18 - Batman: Arkham City: Batman Collectible Figure (Specs + Pi

Making it a rubber suit is cheaper and easier.

Fair enough they want to keep prices as low as possible but it's a bit risky considering Hot Toys' track record with rubber. I'm pretty sure that what's keeping a lot of people away from this release. Had this been like MOS than I would be down for it but at the moment I'm waiting until it's released to see if there's any problems like ED209.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - VGM18 - Batman: Arkham City: Batman Collectible Figure (Specs + Pi

Yeah, same here, just hoped it would have been different..there's a lot people saying it's great how he looks like the game, but there is that "forgot about upper body training" thing (more to do with the huge legs) and the ab section that flabs in his sides (don't know if that's a word, but it fits). I think they could have done with a bit less rubber, but maybe that's because I still have Arkham Asylum in mind or something, just did not expect it to look like this I guess.

The right side of his undies (left on the pics) remind me of Watchmen Comedian (and I "fixed" that with a cotton cloth handkerchief in between all the parts that touch rubber/plastic..)) but don't see me doing that with this one.. And if these are just the proto pics where the undie part touches his leg rubber (allready looking like they are warping) then what will happen in the long run?

It's weird, because I currently have 192 HT (and loads of Medi, Sideshow and other 1/6) and even my Briareos, Aliens, Drake, old Robo and many others still look good, without issues so far. I personally think it's a matter of cheaper material being used nowadays?

But because the only other cool looking Bats from the game is 1/4 (which doesn't go at all with my 1/6 stuff), what other options do we have right?

And I do have this cloth wallscroll to go with it ;) CAM03175.jpg

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - VGM18 - Batman: Arkham City: Batman Collectible Figure (Specs + Pi

Au contraire.

It looks like a fat guy wearing a thick rubber suit with fake, sculpted abs on the suit.

The video game version looks like a roided out guy wearing a compressed suit, like those nike compressed t shirt:

I'm going to have to disagree, as I really don't see that, at all. "Fat" would be if the sides of his abdomen were flush with the sides of his chest and hung over the sides of his belt, but I see segmented musculature and clearly defined pectorals, ribs, abs, and hips. I do agree that they should tighten the suit a bit more and try to get rid of that "squeeze" that the belt has on the waist, but, as far as the details go, I think he looks great. If they toned him up a bit more, I'd be very happy, but, frankly, I'd say I think they should focus more on toning up and slimming down his legs than anything on the upper body.

Honestly, though, I've been waiting, with bated breath, for over two years for this, and I'm just so happy that it's finally a reality.

It's odd that he doesn't come with the cryptographic sequencer...considering how much you use that ****ing thing in the game.:lol

A diseased looking face would have been nice too.

Both of those things would've been great. Hopefully, they can add some of the weapons before release. I'd also like to have the REC.

I really hope so. But nothing is gonna change unless they use a different material. If when the final product pics come out and there's a big improvement, I wouldn't hesitate to order him.

Did Huskie leave? I dunno, maybe he was just trollin.'

No, I am still waiting for somebody to answer my question or prove my point wrong.

As stated in my prior posts, I assume many members had there figures posed wrong. The stress of the rubber on the pointed joints, like knees and elbows, combined with the unproper conditions the figures were shipped in and displayed in, caused the rubber to crack.

I feel sad for many members who are using Hot Toys as a scapegoat for there mistakes...

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - VGM18 - Batman: Arkham City: Batman Collectible Figure (Specs + Pi

I get it. Really. That said...

He did start by just asking a question. His first post was a question. No snarky comments or anything. And the responses provided where that he is a noob and that this was boring and that it was " established" as fact. I just out of curiosity I did a search for rubber and issues and I got pages of things. But when I clicked on the thread I then had to search again. Then I had to read thru every post to find any info. Some of these threads are 100 plus pages long. And, funny thing, after 30 minutes I finally found the first photo of a suit of rubber that had issues. And guess what was asked in the very next post? How was the figure handled...was it in sunlight...was it held in a pose..ect. So I went back to the search and tried again. Next thread...more or less the same. But it took me reading thru hundreds of posts to get that far. And I still have no answers.

So I guess my issue is...he asked a question. So what. Most people don't feel like trying to read thru ten million posts from the last ten years. And if it's ok to bring up these past issues it should also be ok to ask past question. If I'm reading about a new figure just opened for preorder within the last day or two and a bunch of folks are talking about the issues with hot toys and rubber, why is it such an issue to then ask about those issues, like how the figure was handled, where it was stored, ect. I don't see the need or reason to do anything other then answer, or not. Put yourself in his/her shoes..or if u are just to smart to ask the question, then pretend it was your child or mother or girlfriend/boyfriend....if they came on this thread and asked .

.."So are these rubber concerns about the figure legitimate? Are people just overreacting? Or are people just being absurd displaying there figures in a warm environment?"...

As husky did...would u then talk about them being a noob(which was obviously not meant in a kind way) and instead of just answering the question or to make a legit point, link to these "well documented" case, or maybe just make more comments about the poster.

The original question, and again, it's a question not a statement of fact(until people started getting on him/her for some reason, then they got a bit testie) was, are there legit concerns and if so what are they.

It seems like people are always looking for the next joke, at someone else's expense. Sometimes this forum reminds me of a little chasers pizza commercial I saw where (I think it was little Cesar's ) they just "oh he told you" found the link..

Thank you. As you said, I tried searching the forum. I tried other blogs and sites and although I stumbled across a few pictures, I did not find the information I was looking for. I did ask questions, but then was ridiculed for post count and join date. I apologize if I sounded rude.

Did you happen to take a look at that link I posted?

Yeah the cryptographic sequencer is the one thing I wish was inclded that isn't. That thing was definitely used a bunch throughout the game.

If you noticed, there's only a few complainers so far. And mostly they are vet collectors.

HT have gotten quite a lot of new collectors as of late, and it seems they are loving this despite the issues I and some of the others see. So I guess this will sell well after all.

Considering the popularity of the Arkham franchise, it will sell despite the inaccuracies/issues.
