I think if Hot Toys really wanted to they could blow us all away. I mean, they have more money than anyone in 1/6th. If they utilized their resources to lethal effect, it could be mind blowing.

That said, I think they are comfortable in their habits and their profit margins and not interested in making any kind of expensive leap (besides simply raising prices slowly).

Hot toys is not competition for queen. Only one queen need to look over theyre shoulder for is jnd

More in a business sense. Hot Toys has long rested on its laurels and gotten away with cutting corners because they have had a virtual monopoly on high end 1/6 figures. Now that people will have another option for some popular licenses moving forward, they'll have to step up in some regards.

It's a definite win for collectors, both in terms of the amazing potential the Queen Studios figures have as well as Hot Toys getting a much needed wake up call.

Fat and lazy, metaphorically speaking.

Hot Toys, High-end? Ehh....IDK if its possible to use those two words in one sentence.

For licensed semi mass produced 1/6 figures specifically, yes.

They have their faults but I still love a ton of the figures they've made and will continue to purchase and own.

We can celebrate Queen Studios without being dismissive of some of the amazing things Hot Toys has done for 1/6 collecting.

Did I just hear multi-verse? Did anyone PO the Riddler for $400? Still on the fence. Giantoy has it.

I'm going to hope HT does The Riddler, and more accurately. As awesome as that custom is, it's just too off. Also, for what Riddler is, I don't want to spend $400 on him. $275 is plenty.

That is always an option -- and a really good one probably for many.

But I like the idea of having both looks. I also really like that idea posted of turning the bars in front of Joker in the detolf, so he looks truly caged.
Yeah the idea has grown on me as well. I've always liked his jail scene look, but never quite enough to pose a lone Joker figure that way (or my 1/4 Enterbay), because the coat was so much more iconic. But this finally gives me the perfect excuse to display both.

Why are so many people concerned over the posability of this figure? So many seem to think it's essentially a statue because they didn't showcase any "dynamic" poses, what dynamic poses do you want to see Joker doing exactly? Swining through the city doing jump kicks and back flips?

It's a 1/6 scale figure, not a statue :lol

I was talking myself for 2 weeks into dropping $800 on a custom. Then before I closed the deal the Joker happen. I did know it would be expensive but figured they would sell a single rooted option. Glad I did not rush. But now along with speeder trooper and mandalorian you could say my budget for 2022 is already at max. I am thinking about the knightmare flash tho lol.

Which Knightmare Flash? From HT or the third-party one?

I ended up preordering the “Premium Edition” through Kit. Even used $2 in reward to drop the NRD a bit.

I like the rooted Deluxe Edition and also got it but what sold me on the Premium:

• How well will the rooted version hold up over time? Hard to tell.
• Lower price and NRD. If this ends up like an Asmus situation it’ll be easier for me to cancel my order and write off that NRD.
• Prison cell and other head sculpt was too nice not to get.

Agreed. Hot toys still puts out pretty great figures with overall good QC with the exception of items that have seamless arms and they’re still top dog on production paint apps IMO.

But for all they do great, their laziness comes out at times as well like Peacemaker as the most recent example, or if we’re talking Nolanverse, the Batman Begins figure who’s using a decade+ old cowl sculpt. For a company who has so many resources etc to get it right, it’s a real let down when they get it wrong, more so than other companies. They have more than enough references and their teams are obviously talented ppl, so it’s very puzzling when they fall so short sometimes

To me, if you're spending $700+ might as well just go all the way.

I think the sculpted looks kind of bad up close. You can clearly see how those plastic strands are plugged into the head like the old HT Jokers DX01 and Bank Robber V1. It feels like the sculpts were designed to be haired first and foremost.

Definitely the biggest flaw of the sculpted version is the seaweed hair but I just can’t bring myself to pay 1k+ for two really nice figures. Simply priced out.
