maybe you can make some recast`s of his armor. I still like the medicom vader armor if I new how to make a back plate on the armor it would not look small since the back of the armor has no support like the ss vader armor does

I don't know how to cast. ^_^'

If you paint it well I don't see why not! But I have to wait till I see it in hand.

Not on ANH Vader. Keep it all dull and less defined. I never liked that gun-metal puzzle look to Vader, and thankfully it never really played as such in the films.

Definatly making my kaiyodo Vader more silver. Looks like the silver on the shoulder armor should be the same colour.

Will it be better in the future when 50K TVs show you the paint strokes or actual stitching on the clothing?

I haven't watched my blu ray yet but on HD broadcast that pattern didn't jump out at me.

I see it on the cheeks mostly. Not much change on the chest armor.

The one on the right has a pretty high contrast with the silver. Admittedly it's fan-made but it just looks right to my eyes.

My understanding is Hurricane (who I wouldn't bother trying to contact - bit of a mess) did mods to his Kaiyodo facemask recast to make it more accurate.

Eczamurai, what dome are you going to use? Hurricane's Hasbro domes always looked a bit too big for the Kaiyodo facemask but maybe the Sideshow V2 helmet (slightly smaller than the Hasbro) might work.

Vaders always have to be viewed in low contrast, diffuse lighting to judge proportions and accuracy. High contrast seems to hide many inaccuracies (Sideshow Vader looks pretty good in high contrast.)

Jeez, you're going to be at $300+ (and countless hours of work) on getting this Sideshow Vader right... why didn't you wait for the HT Vader pics, then proceed if the HT has missed the mark?

Kaiyodo is definitely a great kit if you can get one of the originals and not a HK recast of the kit. But even the original piece is on the smaller side of 1/6th scale. The face mask will look smallish when compared directly to the SS Vader.

And yes, Talibane's correct, the Hasbro helmet will be Dark Helmet big.

I enjoy it. Same with Boba. He cost me a ton but I like having him personalized I guess.

Maybe a Hasbro recast would work well. I'm mainly buying the Kaiyodo for the chest armor. If the mask looks good enough I will see it modded. If not well, guess not.





Looks ok to me, also keep in mind I assume Hurricane uses recasts of the Kaiyodo meaning that they're probably slightly smallish compared to the original. I will post good comparisons of the 2 helmets once it's in the house!

Dome looks to big here, but it's also sitting far too low, so even there it's not clear to me. I plan to make it fit as snug as my current modded SS Vader dome.

The kaiyodo mask is just as wide as SSC. Sideshow's is taller.
