McHaley,

I plan to use the SS Vader's eyepieces and cutting out the Kaiyodo ones for better paintapps and better looking eyes, considering they should be seperate pieces. On the pictures the eyes seem similar enough or wouldn't this work?

Since we got 2 SS sculpts with our Vaders I can butcher one :lol
take lots of step by step photos of your progress so just in case I might want to try it out

Anyone have any tips with removing the dome? It won't budge! Help a brotha out!

I usually rely on my hairdryer to help loosen things up. Even on hard plastic.

Yea, nothing's working.... Guess I just got the one they cemented on...
Anyone else have some tips on removing the dome? I mean I'm not girly gripping it, I'm man handling after heating it up.

Kaiyodo vs Sideshow.

IMO there is no comparison. Kaiyodo is better in everyway except the lenses.

Straight comparison

Kaiyodo with Sideshow dome (no hasbro yet)

Kaiyodo with one of the sideshow lenses. Roughly sanded will be finetuned like Boba's visor.

Kaiyodo and Sideshow each with a Sideshow lense. I really dig the look on the Kaiyodo.

I love the look of the Kaiyodo. The only issues with it are that it seems a bit too small overall (especially with the Hasbro dome, not so much with the SSC dome) and the eye lenses seem proportionately too small compared to the rest of the facemask.

Maybe with the SSC lens it might help, but the Kaiyodo sockets will define the size, not what you place behind them. But with the dome on, reflections hide that socket smallness to a large degree.

Looking forward to seeing this progress.:clap

Fun fact:

The kaiyodo and vader eyes are near IDENTICAL in shape and size. So much so that the Kaiyodo are actually a smidge bigger. It's the lack of gloss that makes them appear smaller as you stated. You will see. :D

He looks great so far, got the second eye in, will apply some milliput to fix any irregularities. :rock

I think it works better than the stock ones. Like my Boba with custom visor the seperation works. As it does with Sideshow's Vader.
