wow-sideshow are really amazing.

this WILL be the year of Star Wars and Sideshow with a little touch of HT...

What an amazing looking figure. Thanks for the pics those that have him...and thankyou Sideshow for yet another unique character.
makes the clones worth it :)

GOT HIM!

Very dark pictures later, bet ya can't wait.

First impressions: everything on this damn bot moves. Somewhat at least. Things swivel and turn. Can't tell what is supposed to go where, which way the hands go, etc. But its cool. Real tubes and stuff.

I'm bummed the eyes don't move though.

Also, I've noticed an odd thing: there's a mold seam on mine just left of between mouth and eyes -- right on that damn extra band we all complained wasn't there and SS added it at the last minute. Now I've seen others here, like surfer's mold line is square in the middle between eyes right down to mouth, but MJ's is much further off to the side than mine. This means those pieces move...or did at one time. I hate the mold line right in plain view, so I might just 'break' the head to get those pieces to start swiveling again.

That annoyance aside, I love this thing. The joints on mine move with ease -- almost too much so on one arm. The head tilts and swivels fine in two sections, the pistons move, the knees extend, the feet tilt side to side a bit as well as back and forth. elbows are cool, hands are fully articulated and spin...I'm sure there's more but that's all I got. Not sure which is the front of the body, but there's a damn sharp little spike that gets me every time I pick this guy up. He's doing it on purpose.

Not sure which part people are saying is stuck on the shoulder -- the cap that looks like it would rotate like a dial?

OK, so love it... just need to 'fix' one little mold line seam and I'm good. Maybe I can get this head to swivel in three rings too!

Can't wait for your pics, WG!

I'm glad you guys have him first to experiment with and show us what we need to do... Just like with the battle droids.

Pics man!

j/k...congrats

And you were right - factory paint on SSC figs is really improving hugely. First the Dewback sand trooper knocks it out of the park and now this work of art.

I'd love to take some credit for that....

...so I will. The (Dewback) Sand Trooper was one of my first projects painting with Sideshow. Major props to China for translating my proto paint to the figures on that one. The combo of the two actually made the figure even better than my proto. A very rare happenstance.

On that note, China also did most of IG-88 on their own. Some weathering was added by a Sideshow painter, but the majority of the proto work was done all at the factory. Sadly, that seems to be the way this industry is heading; having China doing the proto work as much as possible. We artists are too expensive for some companies to bottom line.

I love this figure, but I can't get the legs at the hip to move more than an 1/2". Is this the case with all of them? Seems a shame with the awesome joints at the knees and ankles.

Well, that's sad to hear. I hate the thought that all of the process in creating the prototypes is being outsourced over seas...will we ever see any of your handiwork on Sideshow protos again? Hope so...

There's knee joints too?

BTW, for you guys following along, here's everyone's IG head so far, including mine all the way on the left. See where the seam line is in that section between eyes and mouth. It's in different places on all 4. Last one doesn't even have it.

So it either swievls...or they glued it in place when they added it, but that unsightly seam line just screams at me. I want to turn mine around...so I either 'break' it to swivel, or I snap off the eyes and reglue elsewhere.

I might actualy try removing and regluing the eyes because I'd like to have them slightly tilted looking down.

Jeez Grampa Wor Gar... put on your glasses and take a closer look :lol

:lol

I knew you guys would say that, but the seam line on mine just jumped out at me, so I checked the other photos and noticed the difference. Thought maybe it proved it swiveled. But anyway...not to trouble anyone else, it just bugged me. Sorry. :slap

Moving quickly on, here's some fast pics, way too dark here, so more tomorrow... the 1st pic shows the articulation of the arms, and a bit in the feet although the hips and feet have much more articulation then I would have thought, including swivel.

My waitlist for the ex is going to be cancelled. What's the story on that vibro ax anyway? Did he have this in ESB?

There's still lots of stuff I've painted that hasn't been revealed yet. Whether they end up showing China samples instead or my actual paint on most of it, :dunno.

I know for sure the next time you see Grievous, it won't be the one I painted.

NO. Definitely didn't have it in ESB. I believe it's an EU thing, so no big deal for me. I'm getting mine from an e-tailer so I won't get it till Feb which is fine since my wallet needs a rest. :rotfl

Anyone know what happens when you're not in when fedex comes?

I got the ex as i liked the axe, it made him seem like he exists outside of that 1 scene in ESB

they'll probably come again the next day. At least thats what happened here earlier this week. The track&trace thingy said they would come on Wednesday, but they already came around on Tuesday. Found a note in the mailbox that they would come again the next day.
