Thanks! The lights in the head look better in hand than I could capture in a pic, and overall he's really well done. This is terrific practice for SS on droids, so I hope they've learned a lot for 3PO.... especially how not to paint the joints.

No problem. :duff Nice! They look great in the pics. Overall, he came out as good as was shown at comic-con I think. I think they did learn a lot and it sounded like they did talking to them about Grievous and IG-88.

Awesome pics, all! Would someone please post a pic of the Sideshow Ig-88 next to the Hasbro one? That's the only Hasbro 12" I thought was pretty great for the time/money

Funny thing is earlier I wasn't sure what you meant about the seam because I didn't have a seam in the front of the head, but just a few minutes ago I started to turn the rings and it moved just fine with out heat. Just grab the bottom of the head with the holes in one hand and then turn the ring above that. It's snug, but it turns very smooth. Believe me I didn't want to be the guinea pig here and break something on a new $200 figure, but I'm glad I could help.

Yep, turns freely! :yess: Got rid of that unsightly seam line on mine.

Strange that the "eye" ring and the "mouth" ring seemed locked togther even though separated by a moving ring, meaning the eyes are set in place over one particular mouth hole. Seems like that ring should move too. It wiggles but I'm afraid to twist too hard. If that moves then we'd have a total of 4 moving rings.

Great shots, WG!

Appreciate everyone thoroughly checking things out with this figure...it's gonna make "opening day" a real blast...

Figure has to be valued over $185 before tax or shipping to require a siguture.

Leave a nice note with "please". Good to get to know your UPS guy, but some guys just won't take it. But with the new SS limit there should be no sig required anyway.

In the mean time, thanks to OT Freak, got my seam line moved clear of the eyes/mouth.

Now if I could just get the eye ring to move to another mouth hole...

AND I got the shoulders to rotate.

BUT -- man what a waste of time. The shoulders on mine are so stuck that I had to use pliers to get the socket to turn. And I still can't do it with just my fingers, heated or not. I have to use the pliers and alot of pressure. Too much to do it too often.

So I'm glad they turn -- sort of -- but I will not be turning them ever again, that's for sure. Besides scraping the paint, I'm sure the stock on the arm is gonna break if you keep applying pressure. IG never raised his arms anyway so the way they came is fine for me.

That said, I wonder if WD40 would work... WD40 for IG88 :lol

do you subtract or add up in that case?:rotfl

Another nitpick, Wor-gar - can that LED cap be spun/locked so that those little notches just above the "eyes" don't line up?

Interesting. The cap twists to lock in place so you can't really adjust to line up the notches in the correct pattern IF you lock it in place. But the notches do line up in that pattern if you just set the cap down (and the light function still works) but don't turn him upside-down.

I thought there'd be more of an issue with the spill from that crack.

Damn I didn't use a tool because I didn't want the leave teeth marks. Like I said it was hard, but not that hard. I noticed that one of the ball joints has gotten a little loose from messing with him all day, but since I can rotate the shoulder, it makes a stop so that the arm can not flop down.

I found that if you twist the bicep it seemes to tighten the ball socket at the shoulder. I have one arm that gets loose but this action tightens it.

Yeah, even with pliers its very hard to rotate my shoulders. I used a rag between shoulder and plier so no bite marks. But its gonna take a lot of twisting to loosen mine to the point where I could actually use the joint.

Right now I want to get that "eye" ring to move independently of the mouth ring.
