Hey, can anyone tell me if the Boba Fett figure comes in a brown shipping box like what Hot Toys does with their figures?

I thought I saw online some photos of the figure coming with a brown shipping box, but my usual supplier is saying it does not come with a brown box. Is he lying?

If your getting it from someone else other than directly from Sideshow, it probably doesn't come in the individual shipper box. They are probably shipped to dealers in bulk rather than individually, so they most likely ship in larger boxes.

The new knees have been on the last 2 or 3 SSC GIJoes, so I'm used to them now.

Can they go to a full 90-degree bend? I'm afraid to force it.

The gauntlets are a little troublesome, but not that big of a deal.

I was going to poke at it again this evening, see if using a toothpick to help hold the sleeve down while sliding on the armor helps (FYI: the actual name of the armor piece that covers just the forearm isn't gauntlet, that's the part that covers the hand).

Not sure why you would need to remove the cape to attach the jetpack either.

Well, because, somehow, inspite of my "near encyclopedic knowledge of all things Star Wars" (quoting my best man from my wedding, *I* certainly don't think I'm that good with Star Wars knowledge), I had it in my head that he either wore the cloak, or the jet pack, never both. Quick search on images.google.com turned up the fallacy of that thought.

So, what does anyone else think, now that we finally have Boba in our hands?

I'm a little disappointed, to be honest. It looks great in the packaging, but trying to set him up for display has brought out some issues.

1) Stiff knees...I was experimenting with putting him in a kneeling pose, and the knees didn't seem to want to bend far enough to allow for that.

2) Forearm armor & sleeve issue. As with the Stormtroopers, the armor pieces being loose cause issues. With Boba I'm finding it worse, in when I take off a hand to put on a different one, the forearm armor tends to slide down (or even off), and when you try to put it back on it tends to push the fabric sleeve back up the arm, impinging on the elbow joint and keeping the armor from being far enough back to stick on a new hand.

3) Has anyone figured out how to take the cloak off to put on the jetpack?

The new knees suck.

I thought I read somehere on here where someone used needlenose pliers to pull the sleeves down through the gauntlets (or whatever you call them). I'm gonna have to mess with mine, when I took him apart to mod the vest I removed the gauntlets and getting them back on over the sleeves, without the sleeves bunching up was a PITA and mine still doesn't look quite right.

Will take a really thin pair of needle nose to fit in there...though tweezers might work well, I've got a super-thin pair in my Swiss Army knife that might do the trick.

I couldn't even get needle nose pliers all the way through the right gauntlet (the left was no problem) - I had to use a piece of tape on the sleeve to pull it through.

I agree that tweezers would probably be the best bet.

My first plan was to take a toothpick, catch the point of it in the seam at the end of the sleeve, then hold it down along the forearm while sliding on the armor.

I'll try both options tonight and report.

Guantlet is the way those armors pieces have always been referred to, starting with the creators of the Boba Fett armor.

The 'sleeve fix' is easy. I did this last week. Simply remove the guantlet, pull the sleeve as far over the wrist as possible, and twist the cuff tight. Slide the gauntlet over the forearm, and grab the cuff with the tweezers.

The end result makes a significant difference (to me, at least), as it makes the arms appear to be longer and more lithe (like Boba Fett should be).

Best example I have at the moment (you can JUST see the cuff peeking out from under the gauntlet):

Really? So sometimes they just send them out in the actual box for the figure? Was it at least wrapped in paper or something?
No, Sideshow will send you stuff in their own generic brown box from time to time (says Sideshow on the brown packaging tape). That's how they ship Truetype bodies, and I think that's how they shipped my regular Zartan. Exclusive did come in his own brown shipper with the text on the side, etc.
