I like Sideshow's Yoda so I ordered one, the Orange snake "Kenner nod" was a cool touch.

But, I also like my Medi Yoda and I'll be keeping him, I like the artistic interpretation/differences between the two.

I completely agree, the Medicom is not as Yoda-Esque, but its a cool figure even though its more of a vinyl statue. I have him in front of the Qui, Obi and Luke figs and people always comment how good he looks. The Medi has a scholary air about him and he looks perfect in a lineup of Jedi.

The SS Yoda looks to lend itself very well to just about any display, it would be perfect for standing on top of Luke's feet in the handstand scene if they ever release a muscle version.

Was anyone at the con able to get a good sense of scale? Just curious if he looks like he's 5.5" tall like the descriptions says, or shorter like the Sideshow pics would suggest?

I was wondering about that too, and of the impression of the environment. Is it smaller than it looks? Bigger than it looks?

I think the hut kinda makes this figure. When I look at close ups, all I see are the inaccuracies*, but seen in the right context with the hut, it just is Yoda. Hats off to Sideshow.

* and I think we're going to see some simple re-paints which sort some of those out.

Well, he's hunched over just a bit so I'd say about 5.5 is right.

I think it will be fine. Maybe a bit smoother but should be pretty close.
