Yea, but i think it depends on the hair. That spirit guy has a buzz cut, so the hat is will be easier to do. Indy has raised sculpted hair.

And Michael Jackson's hat looks goofy on him. The hat looks too big or his head is too small.

I think it looks good actually, but you're right, maybe Indy's hairdo doesn't help...

That proves nothing. The top figure has hardly any hair at all so the hat can be in scale, and the Jackson hat looks oversized a bit.

Sculpted hat head and hatless head were the only way to go for Indy. Sideshow's done the removable hat with Belloq and Toht, if they felt it'd look right for Indy I'm sure they'd have done it that way, the route they went is much more trouble, within the same box they had to try and match a paint job on 2 heads, one had and one head would have been much easier.

I like SS solution, it looks great! But there's always room for improvement...

Much prefer the two heads. As has been stated too many times has it been tried the other way only to look like crap. Really no better way to do things than the route SS went.
.

I actually bought a fedora-like hat not long ago, and it's some kind of flexible material, so it looks great, and it's easier to put on a head,
I'll try it on hatless Indy, see how it looks.

Maybe the answer is alternative materials...

just got mine, messing with him now. I must say one thng aout lose joints. WOPW, my indy is about as stiff in the joints aas a new medicom figure, and as stury in feel as a hot toys true type. withone exception. the joint the head attaches to at the end of the neck is unbeleiveably loose. or it was. drop some super glue in there, wiggle the thing around, and he's fixed. :)

"drop some super glue in there, wiggle the thing around, and he's fixed. "

Can you elaborate on this, I'd like to try it. I received my figure today and his neck flops around like Raggedy Ann!

Just got mine. No photos yet, but shortly.

The Prometheus body is not quite as tight as a HT TrueType but is NOWHERE near as floppy as I was expecting from the early reports, and is much tighter than my General Kenobi figure. Both headsculpts are amazing, photos don't do them justice. Paint is good, will at least get the eyes repainted to get rid of the 'doll dots', and might get a whole repaint. Gear looks great, very impressed with how they pulled off the jacket though it could use some weathering.

All in all, not perfect, but a quantum leap ahead for Sideshow in terms of quality. Still not quite up to HT's latest work, but damned close. Well worth the $90 and definitely the best commercially available 1:6 Indy figure out there.

I prefer the two heads as well, but Medicom's Indy does not look bad with the hat on at all. Granted, he does suffer from hat hair without it though.

I'm REALLY mad! The Indy (Exc) is sold out and you pay about 40 dollars more for it on ebay so it really pisses me off cuz I won'y pay 40 bucks for a staff & dart! Even though I really do want them... ;( And even though I also like the exc Belloq I won't order it (waitlist) because if I get it what the H3!! is the point of displaying him without Indy? just my two cents.

Put a drop on the joint and keep working it till the glue dries.

essentialy what evilface said. you put a drop of superglue in th e joint and move it around untill yo u feel the joint stiffen up. the idea is theat the glue gets into the joint making it a tigheter fit, and thus, a more solid joint.

Well, after the sad news that I wouldn't be getting my Indy today, no matter how hard I tried, I went home totally dejected. Sitting in my kitchen, drowning my sorrows in Chicken Mc Nuggets, the doorbell rings. I figure, despite the sign, it is another damn solicitor. To my utter surprise, guess who was waiting on my doorstep?

My wife always says, "Give to the world and the world gives back to you". I always thought that was just some hippie b.s. she picked up from her mom but I know, just know that Indy came because I helped an old lady get a Transformer down from the top shelf at Wal-Mart today:D

More pics in the image thread BTW...

You can have my Exclusives for $39.00 bucks

To be honest, I'm not that impressed with the torch and dart. I still haven't even taken them out of the package. I'm glad I got them and all, but could have been just as happy with the regular version.

I stripped Indy down so I could give the Prometheus body a once-over. I am digging on it. GREAT articulation! Very good bulk to fill out the costumes of the figures Sideshow uses it for. I even like the fact that the arms and legs at the joints can be removed like the hands at the wrist joints. That may come in handy for customizing if they make different sized figures and anyone want to lengthen the arms for a custom POTA figure or some such thing. (Edit - I am thinking something like using the forearms from the large Pro on the small Hobbit pro to say...make a custom Puck from Alpha Flight.)

Indy is the first figure that I have bought that can be put in a perfectly natural-looking kneeling pose right out of the box. I think the Prometheus will be a hit if it holds up to some playing.

Missed the delivery today. Came in the one hour I left for class so I am just going to pick it up at the UPS Center near me.

And I think the shoulders look more natural. I know most of us are used to a certain exaggerated look of the previous Dragon/Buck/TrueType, but most people don't have huge, broad shoulders.
