One thing that I didn't get in alot of the newscasts I've seen, the seemed to tie the killer "dying his hair red" and that he said he was the Joker.

Is there a time the Joker died his hair red or the news just over dramatizing the hair thing? You'd think if he was a die hard Nolan Joker fan as some may suggest, wouldn't he have had green hair.

I know its not a big deal, but it bugged me. :dunno

He never said he was the Joker, that came out. As for the red hair, unless it was in a comic somewhere, they can't tie that to the Joker either.

The media is going through the comics trying to find anything they can to tie it to him being a diehard Batman fan that went looney. I honestly don't believe that was the case.

I was wondering the same thing until I saw one blogger link his picture to that of Nurse Joker from TDK.

I never realized the Nurse Joker had reddish hair.

Though I haven't seen him, from the way the news has said it. This nut has his hair dyed bright red. Like clown red.

thats because the games we played back then had terrible graphics and were not as graphically VIOLENT as they are made today...

you can clearly see the difference and how graphic things are today vs back then.

Video Games are very Violent anymore these days, especially graphically- (See Grand theft auto or red dead redemption, games were you can go on a killing spree)

Not to mention how Violent movies are today aswell...we are being desensitized whether you realize it or not.You may not think it does not have any effect on you,but it does! The more you are desensitized, the less compassionate a person can be towards others (example-a Man is hit by a car, laid out on the street walk, needs help, and people just walked by him like he didn't exist, and do nothing. this has happened many times).

People are becoming braindead, and entertainment does have alot to blame for that.Video games, the electronic world (cellphones etc) will just rot out your brain!

I love the games coming out now. :lol And I still play both on PS3 and Xbox and still no desire to get all violent. I'm very empathetic to my fellow man (no need to list good deeds here) but I do my best to help out when I can.

I've seen footage of someone being injured or fallen and people just walking by. Most of those people, I would say do not look like the type that play video games. Most of those people look like busy professionals who decide they are too busy with their lives to stop and help someone out..especially if they look like they could be homeless. Doubt video games or movies have anything to do it with. Some people are just selfish and wrapped up in their own little worlds.

On the two dating websites he joined, he never once listed Batman as a favorite movie. It was more movies like Dumb and Dumber and Star Wars.

I thought reports were he bought a ticket, went out the emergency door, propping it open so he could come back in after he got all his gear and weapons out of his vehicle?

That's what they pretty much know. They have eye witnesses who sat by him see him do this.

In reference to the tie-in to Batman for this event, I just heard about the Arnold Crimp thing.... Miller's Dark Knight 2 character with red hair that opens fire in a crowded movie theater.

I think they found their tie-in.

so they're gonna dissect this nut's personal items and try to link and connect it to this unfortunate event.

tell me what you're watching, playing, listening, reading and where you've been and i'll tell you what you are and what you'll become.

reminds me of that man show episode about getting rid of you're nasty shat after you die.lolz

I think its a huge fallacy to say that just because you don't get affected by something then therefore its innocuous for all of humanity. People get affected and motivated by things differently.

True - people do get affected by things differently. But I'm not about to blame video games, movies, music, etc...for someone's violent behavior. If someone plays a game or listens to some song and decides that they need to go out and kill people, well then something was not quite right with that person to begin with.

I'd be curious to see statistics on how many people play video games vs. how many of those gamers have committed violent acts. I imagine it would not be higher than those who watch movies, listen to rock music, play and/or watch sports. Shoot I guess this is kind of supporting your argument - but domestic violence cases go up on Super Bowl Sunday...but you never hear talk of banning football! :dunno I just think trying to blame video games or sports or movies is a scapegoat for what the real problem is...and that obviously varies from person to person.

I'm more curious about this guys' mental health personally. He's right around the age that most men start showing symptoms if they are bipolar or schizophrenic.

In fact here is a study that was done that shows that video games help lower crime! :lol Kids are inside shooting people in games rather than out on the streets getting in trouble. The risk they say kids suffer from playing video games - health issues/obesity from not being outside playing and being physically active.

Pretty sure he did Ween. When the police asked him his name he said Joker. That's what CNN reported anyways.

I'm not really seeing that video you posted as proving your point. Showing military engaged in combat/violence and comparing it with video games that try to be realistic to military missions is not really proving anything, imo. There have been soldiers committing violent crimes while at war long before there were these type of video games. One only has to look at Vietnam as an example to war time atrocities. But I would not blame video games...the stress and pressures a soldier has to deal with when at war is something most people never have to face and unfortunately is sometimes more than some soldiers can bear.

:lecture Well said.

They reported this morning that it wasn't true. When this first happened, people were throwing things out left and right, then taking them back later.

Yep, if they had a video game ban, there would be no violence in the world. No homicides, no wars, just like the good old days pre video games. :duff

Did someone say ban video games?

I don't believe the connection, but it is what I have seen several news agencies report.

Yeah and ABC reported he was a member of the Tea Party and he wasn't. Yet the guy with the same name and is a member of the Tea Party suddenly got a ton of death threats. Gotta love the liberal media and their lack of fact checking these days.
