Have you already received yours? Because if you have not, wait until you get it and you'll see that it seems very fragile. When I took it out of the box I already had a piece of rubber on which the paint had already fainted. That's why I'm really careful when I'm posing it.
No, I haven't received the Aliens Alien warrior yet. But I have the regular and the brown AvP Aliens, and I presume they are similar as far as the rubber is concerned. I can't really tell if the rubber suffers from frequent handling, since My Aliens are in their box, but I was more concerned about a sort of "natural" decay of the rubber anyway. Some rubber toys disintegrate over the years... I hope this is not the case for these Aliens. Would be a scandal. Imagine paying $250 for a rubber suit Alien Queen, and the parts are falling off after 3 or 4 years... I bet HT would get a lot of angry calls!

HUDSON... SO FAR....

Almost done gearing him up... thought I'd share a few shots. FML Chronos "Goofy Scared look" Hudson. Darkartist weathered BDU's, detailed armor with acid burns and detailed Helmet. I wanted to make it more screen accurate so the camo was darkened as well and I added a strap. The macro lens distorts the helmet size about 20%, it is a bit bigger on him but the camo cloth makes it look bigger. May try water treatment to shrink it a bit more. I also painted the mic arm silver... he should be done soon.

Damn Paul, I hadnt visited this thread in a a while, your pix are crazy man!!!!

:bow :bow

You Terminator & Aliens collections are F'n sick!!!!

:bow

Your Hudson looks great pjam! How did you weather the BDUs? I know that both Hudson's and Hicks' BDUs ran darker than the rest of the marines. How do you make them darker? Do you put them in a water wash with a VERY diluted dark color? I think I know how to bleach out Vasquez's BDUs in a VERY diluted white color wash. Please let me know. I want to darken my Hudson and Hicks BDUs someday soon. I have the Chronohead Hudson on the way from Les. I have the scared Hudson head from Chris at EVA on my Hudson now. I put lots of gloss coat on his head to make him look all sweaty and nervous. I think he turned out great. I'll post some pictures soon. But, I still hae to get his helmet graffiti done, and put on the winged skull tie bolo, and his knife. I'd also like to weather his armor, with some pure silver paint like I did for my Hicks. Thanks! :D

Thans bros! Mike, as mentioned Josh did the armor and BDU detail. I'm painting his knife sheath black until I get replacements from Eva. Drake is up next!

Mike, check out the Building Marines thread, I'll post what I did to weather the BDU over the for ya.

Hey P, awesome Hudson you got there, the ultimate badass!!

Regarding the helmet cover, what I did to make it look less bulky was to place tiny pieces of blu-tac (dont know what you call that stuff in the states, its the adhesive putty you use to mount posters on the wall etc) on the helmet in strategic places, then place the cover on top and press it down untill its tight and flush against the helmet. Worked out great on mine.

Bad ass Paul! Love seeing it all put together man... I had a good time on that armor set... :rock

Thanks for the shout out and I can't wait to see it all finished... You seriously have THE Aliens collection out there bro, very fine tuned and from multiple talented folks!

Brilliant Paul! It is SUCH an honor to see him done at long last!
I am glad you got some mileage out of him with your table setup, as that was terrific, but now it's time to armor up!
Great job! Just super!

And extra strap? I don't see no stinking extra strap! :D
And Stendec, cool info on the blu-tac. Might have to give that a try. Does it come loose in heat or cool? Do you have to keep pressing it in?

Great stuff P!
Lord knows what happens when the Warrior hits! Hope all your Marines are on the Ready Line! :D

This guy is just plain Sick! :lol Why I got him. Way I want him. Sick!

FML Head Repaint, DarkArtist Gun detail on handle and side. Eva Gerber (needs to be re-tied but looks good.) Rest is HT. Also need to tie string on his arm and he's done.

Notes: Yes Les, extra strap I made for Hudson, see the little tie and buckle in back? I also painted it green. Used Hudson's strap on Hicks... Speaking of Brilliant I have to say Les' painting IQ kicked in big here with the way he painted Drake's eyes, with gun in hand it is perfection!

And a big shout out to STENDEC for the Hud Helmet camo tip, gotta try that.

Up Next, Vas...

Damn P!! Your figures just keep looking better and better.

Surely you have some badly painted, woefully inaccuratte figure somewhere you can post pics of, just to make us all feel better? lol ;)

Les's incredible repaint of the headsculpt really makes this figure, just awesome.

Your figure is perfect as is but one little thing I'd add as a finishing touch is the "This End Up" motiff on his cap.

Great work P, looking forward to see your uber-cool Vasquez!

although he's not my favorite character in the movie, he is probably my favorite of all the Hot Toys Marines. absolutely bad-ass!!!

And to think I was not going to get him!

FML repainted head, Darkartist chestplate detailing. Taking a cue from Reiny, an elbow band added to Cheong arm sleeves to hide crease, Tank top under shirt adds nicely to fill her out. Mic arm painted silver.

A bit more futzing and voila, she is done. Her chestplate looks off angle because of the pose, she is turned and leaning forward to one side...

Up Next, Hicks...

Awesome work on Vasquez, pjam! I like it! I'm gonna do the same thing to mine. I go the "Cheong" arm sleeves on her now and I'm going to get some "leather" black wristbands for her. I'll do that same weathering to her chest armor. It really adds more to it, when their gear looks worn down and has that "used" look. Awesome job all around! :D

I can't wait to see your Corporal Dwayne Hicks!

Thanks again guys for all your comments. Yeah, lots of talented artists worked on these from HT designers to our bros here. These figs are, like yours, simply a passion for me, need to get them as close as possible.

So Mike, yeah, I had darkartist weather and detail the vas chestplate because it looked too "Plastic" to me, not metal so I encourage you guys to do something like that for yours. Those details make a huge difference. :D

Awesome Vasquez Pjam!!

She is the one colonial marine figure I am still itching to buy. Id definaltey need to source those arm sleeves you have on your figure, makes it look much more authentic to the character.

Les's paintjob is again flawless, especially in the eyes, they look great!
