How can people be saying they don't see Hayden? I think we might need to get some eyes checked. Its so much a home run on sculpt and paint its not even funny.

Now Josh, you have to remember that people have different tastes and opinions. What is perfect to you might be totally off to somebody else. It's not a matter of bad, but rather different eyes. There is no right or wrong in this case, only in what you choose to see. If they don't see Hayden, that's totally cool. Nothing wrong or unbelievable about that.

How did you get to be so nice and levelheaded? I'm not being sarcastic or anything -- you are the most consistently nice person I've encountered on an online bulletin board.

Don't see Hayden?

I say

Josh,I don't want to see that damned retarded cat again!:D

Cap'n, you are just too young to be so wise.

I dunno about that; I've just come to realize that everybody deserves respect and kindness. Maybe it's because I never really got that while I was growing up. Sure, my family is as close to perfect as one could dream, but in school I was always attacked and bullied. But when I was still a kid, I decided to forgive people instead of get angry, and I found that even the meanest bullies needed to be treated kindly. I also learned that it didn't matter what people thought of me, but what mattered was how I treated people. After a while people started realizing that I wasn't going to retaliate and that I never got offended, and they started treating me better; some have even come to apologize to me and have become my friends. But it took years of loneliness and patience. I've learned that compassion and patience makes me happy, even when the world seems to be against me. I haven't been angry in years, and I've learned to love even the most hateful people. It's a choice I made, and one to which I try to remain true.

Sorry, that was WAY off-topic. My mind is wandering after all that Tonner stuff. I mean

Wow that costume sure looks great!

I know. I'm just really shocked that there are people saying it doesn't look like Hayden. :)

Oh of course, I was too when people were unhappy about Faramir being the fourth figure in the 1:6 line. Just think of it as adding a nice bit of flavor to the boards. Some people hate Pizza, which is beyond my comprehension, but hey, it's cool. There's always another dish to try.

i think the face is great. its the too much hair on top that makes his head shape kinda alien. and distracts from it. kinda got the ol hair helmet going. remember potsie on happy days? when he had that big hair after wearing that big hat? lol

Inconceivable!

But back on topic, I too am very puzzled by the fact that some people can't see Hayden in the sculpt. Sure, the hair color is off, but that is a simple paint app fix. There are some comparison shots from the film already posted in this thread that are virtually indistinguishable from the sculpt (aside from the hair :D).

The only problem I have with his sculpt is his hair.It looks too poofy and doesn't look natural. But I havent seen the thing up close so.

People cannot hate Pizza. That makes the monkey cry. :monkey2

It certainly does look like him. I just don't think it's the same kind of "OMG it's him!" sculpt that we saw with Old Ben, or even with the Aragorn PF.

I guess. I disagree but hey its all good. :D

Haven't visited this thread in a while, and I'm shocked to find that people aren't just amazed by this sculpt. Between this one, The Creature and the Aragorn PFs, 2008 is off to an amazing start -- quite possibly Sideshow's best yet.

The sculpt is great, but Hayden is kinda of ''plain" looking, seems he would be hard to perfect, not much to him. I'm happy with him, I dont think he can be any better, cant wait to put his hood on.

considering this is my second SW PF (I got in the game late :monkey3) I think it looks awesome and I think the sculpt is dead on.

I'd really be interested to see the unpainted sculpt. It may be almost entirely the paint job that's throwing it off for me.

I'd like to see that too. Although I doubt the paint adds to the poofyness of the hair but it might be contributing to the overly intense look.

It is indeed difficult to find the characteristics in Hayden that set him apart. I think I probably always went in with the intention of establishing that impatience and frustration in the character, and kind of went overboard when I started thinking, "This guy is VADER!" :) That said though, I'm actually pretty happy with the work, which is surprising to say, as I'm more commonly not very happy with my sculpts before they leave the studio. I'm someone who LOVE'S to see the paint job and clothing though, so that usually gets me pumped about the piece.

In any case, none of the things I do are ever without flaws. (Oh I wish they were!) I'm hoping the likeness pieces start forming a little faster for me so I can hone in on their individual issues a little more. as it is I'm fiddling with things up the moment it gets put on a truck to Sideshow! :lol

Out of respect to Sideshow, I shouldn't make the decision to show the headsculpt here. (with the Obi-Wan head, it's a bit different, since the collectible is finished and out there) You might see about asking Sideshow if they'll do a blog on the sculpture. I'm sure they'd consider it.

Thanks guys! for crits and praises, all are welcome and appreciated!

Thank Trev

But it is possible, that Sideshow bring a Obi-Wan Kenobi Revenge of the Sith Premium Format Figure?
