No, I meant in the movies. WK is different from the other Nazgul. ACI seems to have this correct and their reg Nazgul armor is very rare.

I was curious what the actual ref difference was. J&B posted the diff foot armor in the ACI thread if you're curious.

Oh, sorry. I misunderstood.
But I've checked the Nazgul for reference images on the movies several times, seems like there isn't much of a consistency , apart from the Witch King.
Some scenes they even have modern boots and leather whilst riding. You can spot that on the Bruinen chase. Their costumes were really weird , behind the scenes. Lots of editing was added.
Also, I've noticed other Nazgul have similar swords to the Witch King.

Yeah, its haphazard. Seems like PJ got more into individualizing them for Hobbit.

Just water treating this guy and a repose to the more neutral creepy pose, decided to abandone the stand but use the base on its own, managed a natural three legged pose which is sturdy enough free standing despite the one short rear leg wtf asmus? Please excuse the table cloth for drying purposes, not movie accurate but I like the exposed armour, I also ripped open the sleeves and trimmed down one side of the steeds throw cover as it was supplied lob sided

Nice work :clap Great pose on the horse especially - love the tilt of the head and relaxed front left leg. I didn't even know the head could tilt that way until I read Michael Crawford's review, I'm going to repose mine when I get back to my office. Those pics show why, for me at least, this heavily flawed set is still worth the money.

That's an awesome pose.

Thanks guys, probably a bad shot too, as the head of the Nazgul isn't that elongated in reality
despite the faults a top shelf figure for sure

In other awesome news, this pose allows it to fit my adjusted detolf too :)
By adjusted I suspend two metal rods with zip ties I did this for the witchking

Love the work, shocktrooper! Beautiful.

Water treating is such a necessity for this figure (and WK)...

Finally fixed my snapped foot and got the armor on -- drybrushed highlights which you'll never see -- still shaping with water treatment.

The 'flash' of light is to show you there's literally no face... not even the "spoonhead".

Not sure I like the scabbard poking around, may get it more to the side and hidden better.

And the seam on the head still drives me crazy, but its harder to see when not lit from above.

Very nice work worgar , is your not going to ride the steed?
I hate demoting figures but it had to happen for now at least until I find a better solution, the steed needs to be behind glass, well anyway just adjusted the detolf next door to my witchking to the same height for this guy, eventually custom display cabinets ( in planning ) this guy will have space required for 1/4 scale and tree and grassing path display

I know I know, to many pics but I'm loving thing now I've got the steed and nazgul posed just right :)
one other little thing I did is dremel a notch in the neck to help the head sit upright whilst the body is hunched ( though dremel ing the body may work better, Also I added a piece of black wool cloth to the inner hood to stop light from the cabinet seeping through the thin stock material, now it's pitch black in there, also I tried to attach the witchking hand with the articulated fingers but it wouldn't go on which is a shame as it would have been perfect reaching out on this guy

What's the issue exactly? Does the bendy rod not hold a position?

Thanks!

Yep, Elvis did an amazing job but I'm going to work with what I have so its original parts only -- that means trying to get the seamed pin-head hood to work. :)
Oops missed this, youll find the bendy rod will hold for a time and then for no reason decides to give way and nose dive your horse and figure into the ground, and not in a slow drooping way but rather rapidly

My nazgul's hood sticks out in back like its got a crystal skull underneath. Any suggestions how to get it to lay nicely?

The fabric is glued so heavily that nothing I do seems to change its horizontal cone shape.

Well I was reading last night the movie costume had a wire loop around the neck to create a hunchback look, a hunch back would hide that awkward part on the back of the hood

Well, I did give this a little hunchback already... but my hood is at an angle that requires quite a hunchback.

enlongated hood for post 3-21-15.jpg

Like I said, mine looks more like the crystal skull from Indy. I may have to do some "surgery" to bend and fold it down and maybe stitch it to the back.

hey all... just got my Wraith and Steed set... same problems as mentioned many times here... I need replacement wrist pegs... are the ones they use exclusive to them, or are they options??

Weathering and futzing have begun... I'll post some pics when I get there!
cheers,
-r.

I think the problem with the steed is that one of the legs in the rear is bent in. On mine if you're looking at the steed head on the left rear leg is bent towards the inside. Probably happened in the molding process. If it was straighter the legs would not be so close together and it would be much more stable. I'm tempted to try heating it up with a hair dryer and trying to straighten it. Any opinions on whether this will do anything to the flocking?
