All of these issues are really turning me off of the figure.
Maybe I'll just get the steed and Maleficent and throw her on the back of it. Like that guy did in here and took a picture. That actually looked really nice.

It is frustrating, but he does look awesome once you work through the issues. It helps that the Nazgul & Steed are only $300.

Yep, still working/futzing on my Nazul.

Close-up.... no "head" inside, no post of any kind... also built a "mandarin collar" for him...

Yeah, I was glad nothing broke. It is unfortunate the figure has these issues, because it really is impressive looking. It doesn't bother me too much, since posing on this figure is going to be fairly limited, but hopefully they work out the QC issues soon. I would really like to put some of the upcoming figures like Eowyn in dynamic poses and it is going to be difficult if I have to treat the figure with kid gloves.

Here is a Mine. I chose the pose so I didn't have to switch hands and break the pegs, but I like how it turned out.

Awesome! Can the horse stand without the base or is it absolutely necessary/recommended? You don't by chance have Scarecrow do you, and if so, could you snap a pic with him on the steed?

the horse can totally stand. you need to fiddle a bit to get him there, but he can do it!

The Dragon horse I have, which is many years old now, has no balance issues whatsoever. All four hooves plant firmly on the ground, and the stance is wide enough to allow it to stand steadily on three legs. Asmus not being able to achieve this is disappointing. Still, fiddling with it a bit does give a much better result than how it comes out of the box.

I just got the sword for the steed set in the mail I just wish I could put the sword in his hand.

did you order the steed on his own, or with the wraith? and where from? I got the set throught BBTS, and they said no sword with the steed when you order it as a set. harumph.

Looks awesome. How did you do it?

That looks good Wor-gar

Wor-Gar that looks great. I'm too worried about breaking mine to do anything.

that's great! can you explain the "mandarin collar"?? whatcha mean??

Wow Wor-Gar, it's looking great!

Thanks, gents! Appreciate the support.

The "mandarin collar" thing -- or nehru collar -- is the collar that WK (or Khamul) have on their 'true forms', and I've seen it from time to time in various nazgul costumes, so I decided to build one out of the material supplied around the neck, rather than just have the cloth fold into the supposed nothingness of the face. I like the collar because it really punctuates the "missing head" yet its not readily noticeable amongst all the black.

Mate, it arrived broken in the first place. You can't go wrong messing with this figure :lol

Too true. Fiddling with this figure is the only way to make it really look good -- it's far too poofy out of the box. Other than the seam on top of the head, I think you can get the Asmus to look as good as the ACI (not have the weight though).

At least water treat it, man.

I got the Nazgul and Steed combo from BBTS.

Best futzing/pose I've seen on this one, congrats Wor-gar ! I don't like when Nazgul shows too much armor, (it was my main issue with the ACI one) yours is perfect, much more worrisome like that.
:D

No scarecrow. Didn't really try without the stand. Don't want to risk having him fall over.

The asmus steed can stand but it seems it was designed for one specific stance, you have to fiddle with it to work it out, but if your looking for four straight legs and four hoofs on the ground you ain't going to achieve it. So the articulation is pretty much waisted unless you want either the rearing two leg pose or the other it seems

True. Wor-Gar fantastic job and now that I just got a notice that mine are shipping soon I am going to have to study up on all the futzing you did.
