Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

He suddenly left, but it still was only for 5 seconds. And one could argue that the old man who's there now is in a better position to help people deal with trauma, having the experience & wisdom of having lived a fuller life.

Actually now that I think about it, Professor Hulk could just throw old Steve in another one of those suits and de-age him, just like what happened with Ant-Man.

NO CONSEQUENCES

While i’m on the same page with JAWS regarding Hulk in EG I don’t fully agree with his AOU Hulk assessment as I really quite enjoyed Hulk in that especially when he knocks out Ultron with that final blow and also rips Ultron out of the jet lol

Hnnnng. Don't say that, they might hear you. Steve's story is finished. He lived a happy life and died an old man, the end dammit, lol.

Did you think that Hulk was lame in EG or just too underused? Because for his limited part I'd still contend that he was a valuable part of the story and his wit at least was used to good effect, especially when playing off of Ant-Man. Maybe not as funny as Rocket's scenes but still.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Peggy married someone else and had kids right, or a I thinking of the old lady from Titanic?

Either way, I think Cap is in an alternate timeline living with Peggy while the timeline where she died in TWS still happened. It's weird.

Per The Ancient One's explanation, his being there creates a new timeline "branch", but everything in his past still happened and he hooks up with alternate timeline Peggy, not original recipe Peggy. Agreed, it's weird.

Cap not only returned the stones to their respective places in time, but also Thor's hammer. The fact that old Cap had a brand new shield means that in the newly created timeline where he grows old with Peggy, he was still Cap America at some point....but how does he end up in the same present as the other Avengers that just beat Thanos? It makes no sense. :gah:

Well, I believe it's the QR wrist gadget that Tony created. It has the correct "temporal coordinates" (or whatever you want to call them) for the other Avengers' present, so as long as he kept that, he could return to that exact point in time. No different than when they went collecting stones in the first place.

I wonder if Cap told Peggy that her niece gave him a boner.:wink1:

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Not to pat myself on the back (but I have to because it's so freaking accurate it's scary), but back in March I pretty much predicted the whole film...even the Cap ending. :lol

I think it's strange that the final End Game trailer showed Cap America carying Peggy Carter's casket. I think he will "sacrifice" himself in the end, but he won't die exactly, instead they'll use the quantum realm or the infinity gauntlet somehow to keep him around. He'll "die", in the sense that he'll be gone from the current timeline, but he'll get a happy ending by staying or being able to live his life with Peggy in the 1940's. They never did much with the whole man out of time story. Aside from Peggy dying, he seemed to have adapted to the 21 century without any issues, but he's been so busy fighting aliens, robots, Hydra, and his own team, that maybe he never had time to think about it until now. If Cap get's to have that date/dance with Peggy....I might cry. ;_;

My guess, they go find Thanos in the first act and defeat him, but the gauntlet doesn't work, so they go back to earth, defeated because they couldn't change anything. Time passes by, Widow's hair grows longer, Hawkguy and Antman join the team, and they start working on the time travel suits with the Antman technology. They go back in time to make small changes to previous events, like the battle in NY. Thanos from those timelines will still be the main antagonist, but he won't have a full gauntlet.

Great question and I agree with your assessment that he was not “poorly” used.

I loved everything about Hulk just angry and sad that he didn’t get his post IW rematch is all.

Think about it him putting aside professor Hulk for that rematch would’ve made good use of professor Hulk to begin with in other words a great contrast would’ve presented itself.

Lets have the characters jump in between timelines to really shake things up because time travel narratives are never confusing enough lol

The Russos should enlist LeVar Burton to do a special Reading Rainbow episode for us (dressed as Geordi La Forge, of course) to clear all of this up.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Scary, right. I did not foresee overweight Thor though. :lol

Dude if you had... :thud:

Good call on everything else, thank God I didn't read your theories beforehand, lol.

Totally.

Hell yeah, lol.

Hey I just thought of a moment from SW that paralled Cap standing up to Thanos' entire army. Remember that scene in ROTJ when Han Solo stood his ground against the eight Imperials that ran out of the bunker (four of them unarmed officers) until that armada of like 12 ewoks appeared on the roof, lol.

Also it's kind of hilarious that the Russos added a scene with a bunch of chicks playing keep away with a world destroying artifact. Lol JL amazons.

What’s insane is that EG actually had other moments of great fights complimenting that already ridiculous 3rd act. :rotfl

I’m curious where do you put Aquaman compared to EG?

These two posts back-to-back got me thinking: Where was Sharon in all of this? To be on par with Aquaman, after saying "Avengers Assemble", while everyone else charged ahead Cap would have needed to pause and make out with Sharon while being bathed in an ethereal glow. :lol

Yeah AEG has kind of ruined movies going forward, at least with regard to scope, lol. And then what's ridiculous is that AEG managed to even up the stakes from IW. "Hmm when I wiped out trillions the surviving half wasn't grateful so I guess I'll have to wipe out zillions this time." FFS, lol.

Lol, Jason Mamoa is all thank God my movie came out first. I haven't seen it since the theater but I imagine that it'd still be good silly fun.
