Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Nah she used Rocket’s coordinates to find the ship not random.

But that still doesn't explain the differences between the end of CM & the beginning of EG though....one scenario involves Stark, the other Fury.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

So I have always been curious what happens to the MCU after this. I mean Marvel studios has basicly exhausted their big guns and most famous stories. I mean they are now having to go to the Eternals for movies they are even less known then gaurdians I wonder what stories they can pull of next . Sure they have GoG 3 in the works and a squel to DR strange but I wonder what happens after this FF4 and maybe Namour ?

It's funny when SW changes reality, Carol Danvers who was Ms. Marvel at the time, becomes Captain Marvel, America's most beloved superhero. and that's the way Wolverine figures out something is wrong.

:lol

Dude don't worry. I am happy that you love Endgame... You should. My only point is that the film is, IMO, far from great, story wise and pacing wise. But should not matter to you at all.

That film could have been a Batman and Robin type crap fest for the first 2 hours but you should still love it because of what they did with Cap in that final battle and finishing up his story.

I get it.. I would have been the same way if they did it for Hulk..

Yes it's true Cap's moments during the final battle wound have redeemed pretty much any conceivable horror that preceded it, lol. But I was loving the film up until that part so I stand by my belief that it's still a great film in it's own right. :D

As much as i’m bitching about Hulk and Bucky at the end of the day this $450 million budget movie was well worth the silly ticket price I paid.

Still my favorite marvel movie so far is The Winter Soldier, Henry Jackman’s soundtrack, plus the practical action scenes with minimal cgi and the story is the best out of all of them, alan silvestri’s avengers is allright but doesn’t compare to the epicness of the whole soundtrack from the winter soldier

Listen I’m still in shock that Sass liked this movie lol

So am I was expecting more tepid dragging lines and other stuff...also knowing about the TV series and BW movie mellows me out.

But IMO the Russos handled it - kept it fresh, and for me tho hadn't thought about it, characters were treated with respect. Even the end credits. Some amazing performances. Evans for sure. RDJ was staggeringly good IMO.

still not sure how I feel about Rastafarian Thor but epic hair - wonder if the Russos or even Taika Waititi was having some fun there along with Cap's butt of America. It's hilarious:lol

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Wrapping the following quotes in spoiler tags just to be sure I don't get into trouble.... :rotfl
Hulk could have brought Tony back after Thanos and the army got dusted.

Just imagine what was going on in Stark’s head while Pepper and everyone was just watching him die. His eyes said it all, “quick you idiots, take my gauntlet and wish me back to 100% health again”, “snap Natasha back to life”, “oh no, they’re not even thinking about it, Potts is already writing me off as dead! Nooooo.”

Hulk mentioned that he tried to bring Nat back with his snap, but she didn't. It implies that the toll from attaining the soul stone is permanent. Also, I think it's not too far of a stretch to think that the damage inflicted by the stones to its user cannot be undone too (hence why Thanos had a gimp arm and a limp at the end of IW).

First time Thanos used the glove it did not give him Gimp arm

That was after the 2nd snap when he destroyed the stones.

Thanos arm and face had no damage at the end of IW.. Gauntlet did..

I don't know... it certainly looks like his arm and part of his neck got burnt and withered out:

It was also confirmed that Thanos was stronger than Hulk at the point when they met in Thor's ship. He wasn't using the Power Stone then. He simply beat the Hulk through his own strength and technique. So it's possible that Thanos can resist the damage of the stones better (Hulk got damaged more).

I'm a bit confused about how the time travel piece worked at the end though. They said the changes in the past wouldn't affect their timeline, because it's a different reality every time a change is made. But Captain America somehow was able to go back and still be part of that same timeline, living through the 50s and 60s, etc.

I interpreted this as the entire MCU being in a timeline where Cap actually existed back in the 40's because he returned there. He must have been laying low to ensure the timeline does not get disrupted further (he's smart enough to realize the necessity I think). Those kids in Peggy's photos could very well be Cap's.

Also, he was supposed to replace the Tesseract right where it was taken, but they affected the timeline in two different places with a tesseract, once with Loki taking it. How do those things affect the present or the timestream?

I think Loki's actions just created another timeline (one we'll see in Disney+).

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

RDJ just said in an interview that he doesn’t see any other directors in the MCU ever taking on the physical requirements like the Russo’s did going from TWS to CW to IW to EG especially with the last 2 crossing over into debilitating punishment levels of stress.

That is crazy when you think about probably something only Peter Jackson fully comprehends.

I know what you mean with the soundtrack, but the score to Endgame makes me far more emotional than TWS.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I highly doubt we will see anything more involving alternate realities and timelines from the MCU, this is the only time we will see this level of story involving alternate dimensions. The general movie going public is too stupid to follow that stuff. We tend to forgot we are the uber nerds willing to parse this out. If it gets to confusing most of the public will tune it out, they just do not care enough to think during a film.

I think Cap may have messed up the timeline by staying in the past, since it was clear that he was supposed to come back. The film ends with everything being "fine", but in reality their timeline is now altered, which opens the door for new stories. It might even play a role in phase 4. My guess, they're actually living in an alternate reality, since Cap staying in the past and living a full life with Peggy actually changes Shield, which was influenced greatly by Cap's death. They probably dont even realize it yet.

Nope, all he had to so was stay out of it.
The photo Peggys desk implies he WAS alive and her husband all along, all of us assumed it was her pining away for a lost love, but who does that after year and years?

I'll include spoilers here, fyi.

Just got back from seeing this. It was great on many levels. Very curious how the Widow movie and Witch/ Vision show will work now.

I'm a bit confused about how the time travel piece worked at the end though. They said the changes in the past wouldn't affect their timeline, because it's a different reality every time a change is made. But Captain America somehow was able to go back and still be part of that same timeline, living through the 50s and 60s, etc.

Also, he was supposed to replace the Tesseract right where it was taken, but they affected the timeline in two different places with a tesseract, once with Loki taking it. How do those things affect the present or the timestream?

Also, how could Captain America avoid trying to stop tragedies that happened in his history from taking place? Maybe he did, and as a result the whole timeline we saw through all the movies isn't what the true reality would have been without his interference. Seems like you could have stopped Hydra though, how to prepare New York for the attack from the aliens, Etc. Maybe he was strong enough to just let things proceed as they had to, it would seem against his nature from what we seen all the other movies.

I was actually expecting Black Widow to appear back in this place, as if for one of his last jumps he might have given her the ability to transport into the present time, similar to what happened with gamora.

But maybe all this will make more sense when I re-watch the movie one of these days. Really really enjoyed it. Any quibbles I have are minor.

It VERY important to remember Dr Strange and his “one” scenario rule.

I think that implies that they had to do things this one way, not altering anything.

They could have gone back and changed a bunch of outcomes, BW death the most obvious, but them that “one” outcome would change and BAM no win situation.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I thought they were going to connect to the older movies in a smarter deeper manner where some of the specific plot points from those movies occurred because of information learned from the future.

For example and maybe not a great one but when Agent Ross says to a jailed Zemo that his plan failed so spectacularly Zemo responds with a creepy “Did it?”

That could’ve been Zemo knowing that a fractured Avengers led to the IW decimation.

Or Fury making things happen because of information learned from the future.

I don’t know something deeper I guess that would make us watch the older movies with a different mindset post End Game.
