Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

The way Thanos was defeated made no sense at all if you think about. After all the buildup and the 14 million futures, it came down to Tony taking all six stones from the glove cartoon style. And then, Thanos takes his time, says something cool, then snaps his fingers but the glove doesn't work, so he looks at it and realizes that the stones are missing...wut? Wouldn't he feel that the stones are no longer in his possession? When you have them, energy flows through out your body and it gives you a boost, but he didn't feel that power go away at all when all six stones left him? That's like a typical movie moment like when the bad guy gets the gun and the gun is empty. :lol

LOL Now that you mention it. I like to call him Thanos Fudd.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Scarlet Witch did break it I think, but since she has probability warping powers, nothing is absolute with her.

Kind of an aside, but the Black Panther characters have been in 3 movies, now, and in all of them the films end in a massive CG battle in an open field. Marvel, let's slow down with the massive CG battles for awhile? OK? Thanks.

This was the only massive CG battle in an open field I've *really* enjoyed, but at the end of the day, I prefer smaller, grounded set-pieces. The foot chase in CW, the casino in BP, the Golmira intervention in IM, etc.

You just ruined that moment for me forever.

Thankfully, its just a live-action superhero cartoon.

Ditto. The stuff I liked best on the field were essentially the closer fights. Re these huge CGI-fests I figure they're trying to imitate comic splash panels etc - IMO this was one of the better ones but will like having this on BR for the key battle moments.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I saw this movie 5 times in about 42 hours and I loved it. Even though I knew what was about to happen to Clint's family, that opening scene kicked me right in the balls, and the movie never let up. I welled up, I cried, I laughed, I got chills. The 3-hour runtime flew by, even during additional viewings. No movie (especially in this genre) is perfect, but I think Feige, the Russos, and this ridiculously talented cast knocked this one out of the park. Going into this, I was expecting a lot, and I got even more than that. Though it's really going to be hard saying goodbye to this version of the MCU ... man ... what a ride.

I still crack up over the Starlord 'come and get your love' scene. It's hilarious seeing it from a different point of view right before they knock him out.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

For me this is like Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. If I’m watching one I have to watch the other! Favorite moment is Cap standing there with the army of Thanos opposite him. Then you hear Falcon’s voice, “Cap, on your left.” After that I couldn’t stop cheering! I’m such a fan!

My 3rd viewing yesterday whole audience exploded into cheers. 1st audience was pretty quiet, second more lively, yesterday was a lot of fun.

One nice little moment was when the Aladdin trailer wound up some little kid down in front started joyously singing "a whole new world" - that was charming (meaning in a good way). Guess Disney will keep those family dollars rolling in :monkey3

But the Clint farm had audience riveted from the start. Nobody leaves.

Back to the Falcon moment - yeah, got me in the chest - u can pay attention more with the newness worn off - Cap so beat up and alone, and then that faint voice. It was EPIC. I live in pretty diverse area so BP & co. blew the roof off - also it was a nice moment IMO when T'challa uses Clint's name, considering his attitude in Civil War LOL.

Another big cheer when Cap lifts the hammer...and I want a Thor fig w. the glowing eyes.

Respect for Thanos going out like, like, a man.:monkey3.

Now to stash some cash for my fat Thor fig and Disney's new subscription, because after the sidelining and outright killing some of my favs, I'm definitely needing the 6 hours of Falcon/Bucky, 6 hours of Loki, and 6 hours of SW. Which Disney seems to have been setting up *the *&^%$". Might as well register the bank account with them:chug. That, and the Mandelorian. *&^%$$

During my second viewing, when T'challa, Okoye, and Shuri walked out of the portal, someone in the audience screamed out "WAKANDA FOREVER!" Lots of laughs at that.

Actuals are in: $357,115,007 domestic, $866,526,407 foreign ... for an absolutely stupid global total of $1,223,641,414. After its opening weekend, it's the 17th-highest grossing film of all-time.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

How ironic that Fury was the last one on the porch standing alone. Loved the sign off at the end. Reminded me of the end of Star Trek 6.

Well my friend the fear of it being a colossal bust and ruining prior films certainly didn't come close to happening now did it (unless you're a diehard Hulk fan...) :D

:yess:

Whoa. So when does it break into the Top 10 - sometime tomorrow? :lol Simply amazing...

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

This thing could be the first film to break 3 billion.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I'm already expecting to see Fat Thor Cosplays everywhere during SDCC lol

Expecting to see?

That’s all I’ve ever seen lol

No kidding huh, lol.

And they even snuck in his TWS Stealth Suit for the opening pursuit of Thanos. :rock

How the Russo’s took an already near perfect character and squeezed more perfection into him is just astounding.

Man did Hulk get shafted lol

I’m so happy to see you happy Sass!

Finally I thought you had given up on the MCU.

357 it’s a 3 hour movie for christs sake how :rotfl

:exactly:

Regardless of what other accessory he comes with, I'm 99% sure I'll be posing my Endgame Cap using his broken shield to block Thanos's sword attack.

:exactly:

Whoa. So when does it break into the Top 10 - sometime tomorrow? :lol Simply amazing...
