Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

For me, it didn't feel too long, or too slow or bloated. The 'downtime' went a long way to adding depth and emotional weight to the film.

Totally agree, on repeat viewing it may suffer...knowing what comes later.

I keep wondering how much of my life will get eaten up on repeat viewings at home......3 hours each time.....Gaaaah

If I had to explain it away I'd say that the Soul Stone only appears to someone absolutely devastated by personal loss, regardless of how the loss occurred.
That what I took from it both times...

Sent from the inside of a giant slug in outer space.....

I found the first hour (it felt like the first hour anyway) a bit bleak and that will definitely suffer on repeat viewings.

Once they set out on their missions, then the movie becomes what it is meant to be.

I must say major respect to Thanos for how he responded to the realization of his own defeat. He really took it like a man. Definitely a top tier all-time screen villain.

Yeah I'm very curious as to how repeat viewings will play and how hard it will be to not carve out 5.5 hours each time to binge IW/AEG together, lol.

Three times. The first time in the farm, then in the past watching his death, then in 2023. He's so calm about it, like he knows a lot more that we (and the avengers) know about the universe. Well, he's probably thousands of years old, so there's little that surprises him. :lol

For me this is like Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. If I’m watching one I have to watch the other! Favorite moment is Cap standing there with the army of Thanos opposite him. Then you hear Falcon’s voice, “Cap, on your left.” After that I couldn’t stop cheering! I’m such a fan!

Hell yes. :rock

HT Cap is obviously coming with mjolnir, but what's the other accessory?

I would assume either broken shield or Stormbreaker. I hope they dirty up his face though.

Before EG I would’ve never displayed Cap with a broken shield because I thought it showed weakness but now hell yeah!

Do you realize we got Cap using his TWS/CW up close and personal brutal fight style in his A1 uniform! :rock

No kidding huh, lol.

And they even snuck in his TWS Stealth Suit for the opening pursuit of Thanos. :rock

Hot Toys will sell so many Rescue Armors. I know I'd buy one.

Thanos breaking the shield was a comic reference, but he did it with his fist in the comics. That blade Thanos was using was menacing. It looked unbreakable too. Also, I'm glad they showed his skills as a fighter. I doubt any of the Avenger can beat him 1 on 1 without any help. My only wish is they had given Thanos cosmic energy projection like in the comics.

That blade Thanos wielded was def made by Eitri lol

Scarlet Witch did break it I think, but since she has probability warping powers, nothing is absolute with her.

Kind of an aside, but the Black Panther characters have been in 3 movies, now, and in all of them the films end in a massive CG battle in an open field. Marvel, let's slow down with the massive CG battles for awhile? OK? Thanks.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

The way Thanos was defeated made no sense at all if you think about. After all the buildup and the 14 million futures, it came down to Tony taking all six stones from the glove cartoon style. And then, Thanos takes his time, says something cool, then snaps his fingers but the glove doesn't work, so he looks at it and realizes that the stones are missing...wut? Wouldn't he feel that the stones are no longer in his possession? When you have them, energy flows through out your body and it gives you a boost, but he didn't feel that power go away at all when all six stones left him? That's like a typical movie moment like when the bad guy gets the gun and the gun is empty. :lol
