Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Good post

Loki what you getting all upset for I was almost half expecting you to start calling Cap a Mary Sue lol

Not all. I love the MCU Cap. He's perfect. The best on onscreen character adaption in the MCU in my opinion. Just like you don't like what they did to the Hulk, I'm not happy with some of the choices they've made with Thor and some of their comments. The Russo's obviously have a hard on for Cap and every other hero plays second fiddle to him. He's the only character that got a happy ending... And quite literally I might add (from Peggy many many times...:lol).

I see that Loki surviving in an alternate timeline is, in fact, canon. :panic:

(And he's a one-sixth collector)

Mayhaps there is some truth to this mortals words.. :wink1:

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

A quick look through the app Flipboard I use on my android phone, there are already many articles and headlines quoting what he said. That Cap could always lift Mjolnir. :lol

It is already become a fact... :slap

Welcome to the internet.

You mean like in CW where T'challa becomes king and Black Panther but Coogler decides in BP that no-he-doesn't-we-need-a-cool-tribal-fight?

The Russos rolling over another director's work isn't new at Marvel. At least they TRIED to give some weak explanation:lol. As opposed to Taika Waititi, who just summarily disposed of anyone he didn't want around (poor Warriors 3!):monkey3

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

And Sif seems to have disappeared completely...:(

Thor needs his sexy warrior women back. He'd be all like Jane who? Once he gets it on with his warrior godess.

So glad they decided to axe his romance with Valkyrie

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Marvel just announced the next standalone Hulk movie! :yess:

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Today the Russos spelled out when they determined that Cap was worthy to lift Mjolnir.

Spoiler tags for anyone preferring to keep their own interpretation:
He was always worthy. Steve realized he could lift the hammer in AOU but chose not to out of consideration for Thor's ego. Thor's "I knew it!" was because he saw Cap move the hammer at the party and had always suspected that he could ever since.

So the Russo's decided what a scene in a movie they had absolutely nothing to do with meant to them.... Ok then.

:lol Hollywood ego's.

Agreed. Unless Whedon told them specifically that this was his intent when writing AoU, I call BS. It also conveniently ignores the late scene where Cap, IM and Thor discuss Vision lifting the hammer, when Cap uses the elevator analogy.

Tony sacrificed himself in the first Avenger film and in IW, before Strange stopped Thanos. Is that what it takes, a sacrifice?

Either way, I rather believe Steve became worthy when he told Tony the truth. Otherwise, it'd be weird that Cap didn't use the hammer before EG. Besides, that's Russo fan fiction, since they had nothing to do with AOU.

I find this a much more believable theory.

AOU sucks and the fact that Vision was worthy to lift the hammer, and the first to do it in a throw away scene, kind of took away from Cap's moment, which I like to think he earned by that point in EG, as apposed to him not hurting Thor's feelings.

I don't see it that way. Vision is artificial, so as Cap said - he's like an elevator. We saw him wield Mjolnir, but he never summoned it like Cap.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Banner doesn’t even get a happy ending with Natasha, because screw hulk/banner right???

Since when does every character need a happy ending? Boy you guys wouldn't last two seconds as a Cap fan before AEG. He literally never had a happy ending and his entire life was tinged with sadness but he always took it like a man and made the best of things that he could. I guess Banner is just too weak to follow suit huh.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Hell even ROTJ happy ending went to **** lol

Welcome to the real world you Ewok dicks!

Since unhappy endings are a sign of unfair treatment by directors I guess I hate RO now, lol. The Mad Max movies suck too. Same with Conan, Terminator, RoboCop, etc. Hello even after supreme victory and everyone bowing to him Frodo was still so depressed years later that he basically had to off himself by hopping on the boat to Middle-Earth heaven.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Dude seriously forget lined up the guy literally has been off the grid since rogue one like no social media posts, YouTube, nothing not even seen in Hollywood for job interviews!

Very sad the guy was really charming, smart, talented and a Star Wars diehard.

I wonder why Disney had him killed? :dunno

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

The problem was Gilroy openly stating how the movie was a mess until he came along to fix it. And then he still wasn't happy. He came across as a bitter man and pompous ass. Not very professional to throw a fellow Director under the bus like that. Looked bad for both Disney & Edwards. The Mouse doesn't take well to being made to look like a fool.

Ron Howard never once said anything negative About Solo before he was brought on board. Nor did Whedon trying to fix JL.

I loved RO, and most likely it was still because of Edwards' passion. And I like the 1st Godzilla too. Hope he comes back around and doesn't let that crap hurt his career. He's young.

Edit.. Damn... Just looked up Edwards. Never realized he was as old as he is. He's 44. Looks much younger. I thought he was maybe in his early 30's.. :lol

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Man that Anthony Mackie IMDB interview is really cool that’s amazing that Feige gave Evan’s permission to personally tell Mackey the ending by showing him his script during personal time at home.

Yeah. Weird:dunno - I could'a sworn I saw articles that said she survived the Snap. I suspect unless the fun-loving Hemsworth objects, they'll have Thor be a comic relief but then an EVENT will happen and god-Thor will be re-born - the HERO will rise to save all...down the road.

And the already-rich Hemsworth will be rich, rich - RDJ rich.

Meanwhile I'm kinda really baffled by some decisions. It's Jaws fault I really started thinking about it:lol. Thor I can see; we've seen him be godly and bring the hammer down through multiple films.

But Hulk I don't get really. I mean I don't get the Russos' apparent fascination with Professor Hulk. Not even sure how I feel about that incarnation of the character. I'm staring at my Iron Studios IW Hulk right now - even if he didn't appear in IW that way. To me that's Hulk. There's Bruce Banner and I like Ruffalo's Banner esp in Avengers 1. Then there's Hulk *puny god*.:lol

I dunno if they just figured they need a "story driver" e.g. Professor Hulk sort of becoming the voice of reason when BW is beginning to crack, finally. BW seemed to serve as a sane voice during CW - able to see the big picture. Thought of that when Banner/Hulk was talking to Thor "it was you that helped me". That Professor Hulk was being a kind of "team glue" or sea of calm when everyone else wasn't.:dunno

Because no-one else was really sane through the whole movie.

Man that Anthony Mackie IMDB interview is really cool that’s amazing that Feige gave Evan’s permission to personally tell Mackey the ending by showing him his script during personal time at home.

Yeah. And IMO kinda tasteful on Feige's part. 'Coz it is kind of a sucky situation:monkey1 when 2 friends have been up for consideration for a certain part for a while. Easier to hear than at some conference room, when u have relationships involved.

And I'm not saying that Sebastian Stan is mad about it or whatever. But they seemed to have dangled that carrot at him, and at the audience. But then:
https://www.cbr.com/infinity-war-winter-soldier-captain-america-waste/
“I will say, just on a fan level, I think Winter Soldier’s so awesome that I’m always like, why are you wasting Winter Soldier and putting him in like Captain America outfit?" Markus said in an interview with Screen Rant. "You had two heroes now you got one.”

E.g. re Mackie's comment of having to keep stuff secret for years, figure all this has been talked about for years. Personally tho I think either actor can be Cap, I hafta agree with Markus. Stan's good enough of an actor to be basically a ruthless killer and u still end up rooting for him:cool:. He puts in the gym and training time. I like having my fav MCU character still in black and loaded with weapons (but he's still a nice guy:lol)

Can't wait for this series plz don't screw up Disney:pray:

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Oh man regarding that Thor vs Thor scene that was initially in the script the Russo’s said this...

"We did have a sequence where they finally confront each other in Asgard," Joe Russo said.

"I think it got overly complicated and we liked Cap vs Cap better," added Anthony Russo.

:lol :lol :lol

They went on to say that the Thor and his mother scene worked better for the character.

I agree.
